Isn’t this required training for the NBA?

It is those ‘new’ condoms that DC says they need.

I agree. WTF is happening.

Please, go and Seek GOD before it is too late.

Events like this have more to do with a school’s demographics than the concept of public schooling itself.

Case in point, 2 weeks ago, my 5th grade son and I attended an overnight camping trip with the rest of his class. Each meal in the 200-seat mess facility was started by joining hands and thanking God. This is a public school in a conservative suburban district.

Some homeschoolers use articles like to comment about other parents who send their kids to public school. Some public school parents use articles about abused or maladjusted homeschooled children to counter.

Neither tactic is intellectually honest. In the end, it comes down to the demographics of the district. Not race specifically, but % of nuclear families, overall crime rates, poverty levels, etc...

I went to a public school, a good one too, as did all my siblings. My children went to public school but I am tickled that my grandchildren are now either homeschooled or being taught by their Mother at a Montessori school.

If you think wanting to protect your children from the brutality which is now common in public schools, is in any way wrong,I simply don’t agree with you. Actually it is stronger than that. I think you are foolish.

HG,
You took my post and reversed the order in your response. If you had dealt with the matters in order and in context, you wouldn't have needed to ask the questions you asked.

The post was about one child raping another child in a school. You drew the conclusion that because a child is homeschooled that they will turn into a weak, antisocial person. That response within the context of an article regarding the rape of a child at a school is foolish; therefore I described you accordingly. Thankfully, my daughter has never been raped, but (God forbid) if she had been raped, would you THEN think it is acceptable for me to homeschool her?

As for me teaching my children to "call names": I teach my child to mark fools as fools (some call this discernment or discretion. It's a valuable trait she'll need should she desire to leave the basement and venture out into the scary world someday). It's also important to state that I also teach my children to give fools second chances when it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Homeschooling isn't for everyone, but PARENTING is. (at least for those with child(ren) ;) ) My thought is that if more parents would take their parenting responsibilities more seriously, then the world would be a much better, safer place.

Take care.

Because usually one is 14 when they finish up 8th grade?

15 when they finish 9th
16 when they finish 10th
17 when they finish 11th
18 when the graduate.

Yeah, whatever.
My kids went to public schools and never put a condom on a banana or practiced fisting.

They never got pounded with liberal fag commie nonsense and
never believed any of the objectionable enviro-queer stuff.

They played football and built cars and played guitars.
The BS you folks assume goes on in real schools is just that.. BS.

Maybe your kidlets are too delicate, who knows.

Eldest son is now in the Army, no doubt putting condoms
on bananas while protecting your little gems from the
evils of the real world.

Bugger off.

14 year olds = 8th grade, don’t they?

18 year olds = 12th grade, minus 4 years, minus 4 grades.

Sounds right to my (poorly educated) mind.

Gunner,

It sounds like your children are upstanding members of our society. Hat's off to your son who serves. I'm sure you're very proud of them, and rightfully so.

As for homeschooling... we can just agree to disagree. My point of view is that if parent(s) are willing and able to homeschool their child(ren), then why shouldn't they? Why would I *default* to giving control of my child's training over to anyone... much less the state? (rhetorical question there.)
I'm a self-sufficient, freedom-loving, conservative American. My desire / demand for personal liberty extends to my choices in how I educate my children. God bless.

No reason not to.
But MOST of the homeschool crowd hereabouts characterize normally
schooled kids as fisting-enabled enviro-fags wearing Che shirts.

It simply isn't so. And it ticks me off.

Educate your kids any way you wish.

Just don't come around slandering mine.
