Obama Wants More Out Of Intel Agencies
IBD Editorials ^ | June 8, 2010 | DAVID IGNATIUS

Posted on 06/08/2010 4:33:11 PM PDT by Kaslin

President Obama fired Adm. Dennis Blair as director of national intelligence last month because of frustration with the lack of coordination among spy agencies and a fear that the former Navy four-star was too prone to give personal opinions rather than hard information.

Blair also lost points with the president and his advisers when he let his critique of the CIA become too apparent during high-level meetings. Like many military officers, Blair believed that the agency lacked the training and background for some of its missions, and that its officers had a covert "can-do" philosophy that often led them to act before thinking.

The decision to sack Blair, which had been brewing for months, opens the way for the Obama administration to reshape the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, an ill-defined position that hasn't worked well in the five years since it was created.

White House officials say Obama wants a manager and coordinator as his DNI, rather than an intelligence czar who will try to steer the 16 individual intelligence agencies that report to him. White House officials use words such as "orchestration," "collaboration," "integration" and "synchronization" when they talk about what Obama is seeking.

The president doesn't want the DNI to centralize decision-making under his umbrella the way that Blair sometimes tried to do. The key to getting the job right, says a White House official, is "leveraging without consolidating."

Why? So he can give our enemies even more of our Intelligence? We have been terribly compromised by these Marxists. It will take decades to repair all the damage already done by them and their cronies.

'Obama Wants More Out Of Intel Agencies'

So did Stalin and his successors. Up to and including Putin, I suspect.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

To inspire them and improve morale, Obama is enacting a new medal for “Most humane interrogator.”

Uh-oh. That sounds to me like what Blair was telling him wasn't what he wanted to hear, so he's ignoring it. He'll replace him with somebody whose intelligence briefings fit his preconceived notions and agenda.

The question to ask is;

“More out of Intel Agencies”…For What and For Whom; if this is just a management and training issue, why is it news?

He’s a little boy who wants more power, he couldn’t care less about national security.

Another problem is that the CIA has essentially been sidelined.

In short, Leon Panetta is ostensibly useless.

Sure they hurry in all this penny-loafer and cufflink-inpsired hyperlegalism, put HQ out of the interrogation biz, and then wow, guess what..!!?

NO MORE INFO...!

So that gives them ONE option; stare, locate, and vaporize. Then repeat. The man is uniquely unqualified for this most delicate and complex struggle.

Who in their right mind would join up NOW...?

'Obama Wants More Out Of Intel Agencies'

I'm willing to vent the contents of my spleen onto Obama. It's more than he's currently getting, so he should be happy as a clam to get it.

Obama Has “More Confidence” in Brennan?
The Weekly Standard ^ | May 20, 2010 | Michael Anton
Posted on May 21, 2010 9:49:45 AM PDT by jazusamo

I’ve never been a huge fan of Admiral Dennis Blair as Director of National Intelligence—nor of the institution of DNI, for that matter. A fine naval officer, Blair seemed out of his milieu as DNI, often unaware of basic facts that someone in his position should know. Part the problem is inherent in the DNI concept—the conceit that some all-seeing super-bureaucrat could, simply by virtue of high rank, a big staff and an even bigger budget, fix all the problems with America’s intelligence community. But some of the problems resided with Blair himself. The Obama administration has come to the same conclusion and asked Blair to resign.

So far so good. But reading through the report by ABC’s Jake Tapper one comes across this hair-raising assertion: “… the White House made it clear that it had more confidence in others, such as counterterrorism and homeland security adviser John Brennan ...”

More confidence in Brennan? Really? To understand how terrifying that assertion is, one does not even have to look much past this week.”

She screws America on intelligence and comes up smelling like a rose.

She even gets appointed to the 911 Commission to cover her tracks.

Blessed Dem operative. To say the least.
