This morning, Bob Beckel appeared on the Fox News Channel to comment upon Helen Thomas' recent rabidly anti-Semitic remarks about Israel and Jews. To my astonishment, Beckel defended Thomas' remarks as "part of the free speech we Americans enjoy." When asked if Thomas should be fired by Hearst, Beckel went on to say that that was up to Hearst, but that the First Amendment guaranteed her the right to slander Jews and Israel while she worked as Grand Dam of White House reporting/commentary. I don't know whether Beckel is also a Jew hater or that he is incapable of criticizing a fellow Liberal. Either way, his opinions are now officially worthless.
Even for Beckel, this was a stretch. I have emailed Beckel about this and await his reply.

I would not even waste my time to contact Beckel.....crap like arguing with a wall.....idiot Obama-ites are not worth the time, effort, or the breath.

In our lifetime, we’ve seen the downfall of the fomerly “honorable” Dan Rather, Helen Thomas, and other political pundits who tried to shape the public’s perceptions of the issues for DECADES.
Walter Cronkite never took a fall (although his boating with Bill Clinton during Fornigate gave his perceived “objectivity” a hit). Details have since come to light to tarnish Uncle Walter’s legacy.
The public’s eyes have opened to the biases of the Pravda Media. Wonder when the journalism industry is going to do a mea culpa and clean up its act.
If 0bama shot an old lady on the street in front of thousands, Beckel would defend him. “The old lady had to die sometime anyway”.
Let’s see, it’s OK for MoveOn to denigrate Gen. Petraeus but it’s not OK to criticize Helen Thomas’s statements or call for her firing?
I saw this on America’s Newsroom this morning and the guy comes off like a typical liberal weasel. I swear clowns like him and Blumenthal go to some night school for weasels.
She knows in the current D.C. climate: she can get away with

No one is suggesting that HT should be JAILED because of her speech. THAT is what the First Amendment protects, and rightfully so.
That doesn't protect her "right" to a job - there is no such right.
It's perfectly OK for Hearst to fire her for her speech.

I saw him make his weak and pitiful comments. I wonder who’s currently paying for his coif, his suit and his manicure.
The Rabbi who questioned and filmed Thomas was on Fox & Friends this morning. He said the video released is only part of Thomas' comments. He's going to release the second half in a day or so, and said he'd come back on Fox & Friends and show it.
However, there ARE people who say Christians should be jailed for "hate speech" when speaking out about homos.
Then I guess Bob has no problem with people keeping their jobs after engaging in hate-speech against blacks and latinos...
