I don’t think Bishops actually have any control over most so-called Catholic hospitals.

What, Henry the VIIIth is in charge? No, if they are Catholic, the Bishop has a great deal to say.

“He charges a sliding scale based on the age of the child. For killing a child of 5-11 weeks he charges $425, 12-13 weeks $515, 14-15 weeks $780, and 16-17 weeks costs $880.”

Mengelian.

I wish that people that are so concerned about population would just jump off the planet (Do themselves in) I guess I don’t really mean that, but I can’t understand how they think that their life is any more important than anyone else!

Yes, the secular government has more say over hospitals than the Church in America.

“No, if they are Catholic, the Bishop has a great deal to say.”

I don’t think so. If that were the case then why did Bishop Olmstead have to excommunicate a hospital nun recently?

He did not. She did it to herself.

Well, true, but the bishop felt compelled to make a public statement about it. I don’t think bishops have much real control over most Catholic hospitals - just like with Catholic universities.

The hospitals here in the Austin, TX. area are run by the Sisters of Charity. IICR

Mengelian.

Spot on. I wonder what he charges for a 1-year old. Think he offers a discount for blacks and other non-Aryan races to encourage greater use of his services among such genetically defective groups?

Perfect allusion. We should be using that name more often. Of course, we’ll be found guilty of a hate-crime; but it’s worth it. The irony is that the Nazis truly believed they were refining the race, not that that’s a defense. But what’s his defense? This guy doesn’t care WHOM he aborts; they’re all subhuman. And HE’s protected by U. S. Law.

The Devil has not yet developed a punishment in Hell suitable for this person. He has shown by his actions that he is not a member of H. Sapien. Perhaps he is related to sharks.

It should be noted, that while I realize that it is scandalous to point out this ongoing situation within the Catholic church, it is a much more egregious scandal to let it continue unaddressed.

I don't understand this statement. Why would it be scandalous to point out this situation?

Anybody?

Not true. A nun was just excommunicated here in Phoenix over abortion. http://www.catholicsun.org/2010/may/18/NUN-EXCOMMUNICATED.html

Not really. I said much of the same thing, but really she excommunicated herself. And that excommunication doesn’t show that the bishop has any control over the hospital. And even if Olmstead does have control over one hospital, it doesn’t mean all bishops have control over all Catholic hospitals.
