Of course. Everyone knows how much more frequently Mexicans are prescribed antibiotics over Americans. Their medical system is far superior to ours. /s

C-diff for short, it’s a bacteria that takes over the bowel and overwhelms the good gut bacteria that normally help with metabolic function.
Bottom line, the victim gets the scooters and can’t stop. Dehydration sets in. It’s bad news for little children and old folks.

Yeah...this is one we can pin on both the use and overuse of antibiotics. But the knee jerk reaction to all infectious disease (with the exception of some STDs) is to blame Mexico and our immigration policy. Very counterproductive to those trying to stop the influx.

Takig antibiotics can cause Clostridium dificile...

This thread needs an official apology to the medical profession. Somewhere, a doctor is reading this and laughing his ass off.

Containing these bugs is nearly impossible. This new C. diff will be running rampant throughout every hospital and nursing home in America within 10 years. There's no stopping it. The lesser strain is bad enough, it can and does kill the old and the weak. This strain that carries 20x more toxin will kill healthy people including health care workers who regularly come into contact with C. difficile. for those who don't know clostridium difficile is a close relative of clostridium botulinum and clostridium perfringens and clostridium tetani, the bacteria that cause botulism, gas gangrene, and tetanus respectively. This new bug finally puts C. diff in the same category as it's deadly cousins IMO. If it is any kind of resistant to flagyl and/or vancomycin, I would consider it to be a weapon.

I’ve not heard of this one before? Our local hospital has been closed once by the CDC because of an outbreak of MRSA. I would not have surgery here unless it was an emergency or done in the out patient area where they haven’t had the same problem.
To: GiovannaNicoletta
No c-diff is prevelent in our hospital here in Placerville. We have alot of elderly have it.. And people that are hospitalized alot... We gown up and double glove.. It sucks though. You get severe diarhea.. Pooping your guts out!
