Gears have definitely shifted. Rolling Thunder will not have a traditional audience at the White House to kick-start the 23rd annual "Ride for Freedom" rally. Officials from the mammoth motorcycle group tell Inside the Beltway they will not pay a call on President Obama this weekend when 900,000 riders gather in the nation's capital in the name of patriotism, and to honor active-duty troops, prisoners of war, those missing in action and veterans.
The informal, cordial welcome was an annual rite during the previous administration, capped off in 2008 when President George W. Bush met Rolling Thunder President Artie Mueller and others in the White House driveway, escorted them to the Oval Office and was made an honorary member of the group.

Article is unclear. Who called it off?
Odumbass is going out of town for Memorial Day weekend, back to Sweet Home Chicago. He’ll be down in Louisiana on Friday to tell people to “plug that damn hole,” then he’ll head to Chi-town for the weekend so he won’t be there to see Rolling Thunder...OR lay a wreath at Arlington. He’s left Plugs Biden to do that.

I don’t think the prez is in town this weekend. He chilling in Chicago until Monday evening or later.
I bet if Rolling Thunder offered him Wagyu beef and snow cones he would have hung around.
In the name of patriotism and honoring our troops, I'm glad they are skipping the White House.
As a rider of Harley’s (and old Triumph’s) for 46 years who has lots of friends who go to this, I suspect most of the almost million Rolling Thunder riders wouldn’t even want Obama involved........IMHO.

I doubt it. Rolling Thunder folks would make him look every bit like the whimp he is. He can’t afford such photo ops with real men and women instead of his usual pasty-faced, pudgy props.
NObama isn’t going to even be in town.
Maybe NObama is afraid of all those cycle guys.
Good, I don't want that POS 0bama anywhere near Arlington.
Well, being as bummer isn't letting anything stand in the way a 4 day holiday - and is blowing off the traditional Presidential laying of the wreath at Arlington in honor of all our troops, past and present, (but will attending the McCartney concert) - and will condescend to make a quick look-see on the Gulf on Fridday - and has a mega-funraiser out west (dinner with big oil execs...lucky for him his name isn't Bush) - etc...I 'wonder' who 'called it off?"
Just as well. I wouldn't want to asscociate with him on Memorial Day - or have him stand on the haloed ground at Arlington. It's no place for American haters.
