RealClearPolitics spoke to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), ranking member on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, this morning. RCP asked him about the controversy surrounding Rep. Joe Sestak, the Democratic nominee in Pennsylvania's Senate race. Sestak has said numerous times, most recently on "Meet the Press," that he was offered a job by the White House to drop out of the primary race against Specter. The White House has dodged questions about the matter until recently. Yesterday, Obama's senior adviser David Axelrod said "nothing inappropriate happened." White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs gave the same response on Sunday's "Face the Nation."
Rep. Issa told me "clearly a crime has been committed" and says he will pressure the White House to clear up the issue. Issa says he will also pressure Rep. Sestak to live up to the Navy ethics code and the House ethics code.
Issa says Sestak is not the "target" because he has "truthfully answered" a question. Issa also says if true, the White House has committed "crimes" and "felonies."

There is no bribe, nothing to see here. Move along.
Let the whispers of impeachment begin...
Dickie Durbin is starting to make some noise about this, but he puts the onous on Stepec to give more details.
Nothing appropriate happened.

obama’s adminstration will likely go down as the most corrupt in our nation’s history. Unfortunately, the liberals like to revise history so we won’t learn from it.
Last night I heard Krauthammer on Fox and his comment about this Stestack thing was basically a shrug. Krauthammer likened it to the offering of ambassadorships and we know this happens all the time.
This morning Laura Ingraham was on Fox and she shrugged too.
I got to thinking...this thing with Stestack is going nowhere. First, it’s his word against the WH. Unless they got something on tape what’s the deal? A congress committee would have Sestack testify, he’d say, like he did on national TV, that the WH offered him a job to drop out of the race for Spector’s chances to be bettered. He might even mention the job he was offered before that congress committee.
They bring in Axelrod, Emmanuel....whoever...they all say...NO..we didn’t offer any job.
Then what?
Not that there shouldn’t be a big deal made about it but sheesh, people, these are Republicans. They’re not going to push it. I haven’t seen any pub on TV shouting about bribes and such. If this were a pub admin making such offers you’d have Schumer chasing down cameras over here, Dick Durbin screaming over here, the entire CBC would be on every show possible...the roar would be defeaning.
Issa’s a good guy but the rest of the pubs fear a head hair might get misplaced, a fingernail might lose a shine...horrors, that the friends across the aisle might get in a snit.
And for something that really can’t be proved?
Now the pubs can fan the flames of this issue to give the pub contender against Sestack a chance but dear Lord, the pubs could not possibly keep it up until November. The head hairs would get messy as all get out, the friends across the aisle would really get steamed, darn, the tans might even fade.
But it would be real nice if the pubs would take a page out of the Dems book and glom onto this like the Dems did over Mark Foley.
It wasn’t me......Remember Scooter Libby....the rats will turn on each other before Nov.
O is hiding this week and will be hard pressed to recover momentum over the Summer in time to change the outcome in Nov and Durbin knows it.

Bribery isn't inappropriate to them.
Bardella’s correct when he says this is not going away.
Axelrod: No evidence that Sestak is telling the truth .

We obviously need hearings. More hearings.
