Rendell said that voters weren't against government spending, but just wanted "effective government" that invested in the wisest way possible.

Sorry, Ed. No cigar.

It does help when the takers outnumber the givers by a 2 to 1 margin in the district. Sorry Eddie, you’re full of it. That district is not the norm in America.
To: NormsRevenge
So what are they really saying, that they didn’t actually expect to win any races? They won one in a solidly Dem district and they’re acting like they won it from a district that’s gone Republican for decades.
The truth is Fast Eddy, you might win one here and there. If Murtha’s seat indicates anything it’s that the Dems are going to have to have 2:1 majorities and run as conservatives to even win the occasional seat.

Although Murtha’s old seat is disheartening. The dem primary that ousted specter brought out more dems than GOPers.

This is the same Ed Rendell who put money in the transportation budget under the assumption the Feds
would approve the tolling of I-80. Guess what, Feds
denied the request - mucho $$$$$ now have to be
acquired some other way. So much for Fast Eddies
assumptions
To: NormsRevenge
Just keep telling yourselves that Eddie! Sounds more like a wish than a fact!
To: bmwcyle
Thankfully Rendell is going away to a cushy job somewhere.
Word around here is he might take a full time sports talk job in Philly.

If that were really true, he'd keep his mouth shut about it. Why warn us? I suspect Tea Party candidates will do just fine...

Old eddy was smart. He packaged the primary and the special election into one day of voting. It gave them the edge on who showed up to vote.

Good one Fast Eddie! So is PA in the running for the ‘what state will go bankrupt first race’? Although there’s stiff competition with CA & NY I’ll bet yer a contender.

The pubbies are also going to have to choose the right candidates. Probably the guy who ran a close race against Murtha in '08 should have been given another shot.
