While the Obama administration runs away from ACORN here in the United States it is quietly embracing ACORN overseas.

The Obama administration is using U.S. government resources to help the embattled radical advocacy organization spread the gospel of left-wing community organizing in India.

President Obama’s ambassador to India, Timothy J. Roemer, recently lent his name and the prestige of the U.S. government to ACORN India’s efforts to organize rag-pickers in Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay). Roemer is a former Democratic congressman who represented an Indiana district.

America has taken the USSR’s role of importing communism around the world.

Our tax dollars at work. :-( What a joke that they care about our deficit...it’s just a tool to them.

Bastards.

I’ll ping my brother-in-law about this. He’s a senior MP in congress there, and is a big supporter of the really poor in India (tribals and rural peoples). Given how destructive ACORN is, the last thing they need there is a real rabble-rousing group to start influencing politics. Now, granted, Indian politics are far more volatile than ours, and ACORN is less likely to have a real effect, since there are plenty of indigenous organizations that already do this kind of thing, but most of them don’t have outside funding like ACORN does, and most tend to have agendas that focus on shifting influence within the Indian population, rather than generating influence for some foreign group.

What business is this of ours???? even if we could afford it.

Why doesn’t he send ACORN to China? - oh, they might quit financing zero’s grandiose communist plans,

What about Iran? - oh, they’re Jew hating Muslims - can’t bother them...

Well that leaves North Korea...what about them, zero?

Well, it’ll be interesting to see how the American experience serves them in India.

There are enough of these groups there already, IMO. India is not China, and hence has many citizens groups advocating various causes.

And things can get a little more real on the streets of Bombay........
