Good point - the whole “hate crime” thing is a bit ridiculous, but it is frustrating to see it be a one-way PC ratchet. Blacks mug the Jewish white guy - nothing to see. White guys mug a black guy - presumptively a “hate crime”. God forbid the victim is gay too, then we’re in overdrive.
No, but inter-racial gang targeting often has "hate" as an extra selection factor.
