Jarrett and Axelrod given car privileges reserved for national security officials
The Daily Caller ^ | 05/11/10 | Jon Ward

President Obama has expanded the very small group of top aides who are given the privilege of taxpayer-funded personal drivers — who take them from their house to work and back home again each day — to include two top political advisers.

The Bush White House did not give the same privileges to any of its political advisers, according to former Bush administration officials. There is a record of the Clinton White House doing so once for two months, according to documents obtained by The Daily Caller.

Valerie Jarrett and David Axelrod, both senior advisers to the president, have been given the luxurious and prestigious perk of being picked up at their homes and driven to work or around town throughout the day in government vehicles chauffeured by military drivers, according to a list of those given the benefit provided to The Daily Caller by the White House.

In addition, Jarrett has been made a “protectee” of the Secret Service, a spokesman for the agency said. It is not clear to what extent Jarrett receives protection. Neither the White House or Secret Service would comment on the matter.

“We don’t discuss the scope or nature of protection for any Secret Service protectee due to operational security concerns,” said Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan.

With rare exception, Karl Rove always drove himself to the White House. You might remember scenes during the war when Code Pinkers would be protesting at his home, as he drove alone into his own drive way. There were also reporters camped out at his home during the Valerie Pflame fiasco, and then too, he drove himself.

It is ridiculous that we as taxpayers are footing the bill for Obama's persona political advisers.

The Actual title is...

Top Obama advisers Jarrett and Axelrod given car privileges traditionally reserved for national security officials

...but it had to be truncated for space considerations.

Obastard thinks of himself and his advisers as royalty and that we should be glad to pay for their perks.

The brains behind the regime... who knows what hours they are required to keep... and who answers those 3 a.m. phone calls... I am surprised they do not literally live in the White House....

I’m reminded of a chapter in Unintended Consequences when Bowman started cleaning up DC. Perhaps they’re worried about the “Henry Bowmans” around the Capitol?

Gawd I can only hope so. RE: Henry Bowman's in DC.

Hopefully Henry Bowman will start locally with the liberal dog catcher first, and work their way up the progressive tree.

I don’t begrudge the liberals who are out there making a wage. I have bosses and colleagues who are dyed-in-the-wool red communist pigs, but they’re working and providing for their families. I wouldn’t ask for a Henry Bowman on them.

However, these red diaper doper baby politicians who are making and approving laws that affect me need to have the fear of the American Constitution put into them. The Commies and Liberals are def. in the minority. If we could have 100% turnout for an election, I just know that we would have a landslide victory for Conservatism.

That being said, we must work to marginalize the fringe kooks and work to galvanize those of us with disparate but generally complementary views on Republican government. The problem we have now is that no one wants to work for anything including for freedom. As Franklin once said, “[We’ve given you] a Republic... if you can keep it.”

Freedom isn’t free. Liberty isn’t easy. We must research and scrutinize every politician coming up to the podium during election season. It’s critical that we elect those who represent our views, not those who put good lip service.

It is no wonder that members of this Regime and leaders of their congress are seeking personal protection. They know that a majority of the US public doesn’t approve of their actions or morals. When leaders cannot walk among their people..it doesn’t reflect on the people..it reflects on the leaders.
