Flaunt the American Flag Day Tomorrow (Freeper on G. Gordon Liddy Show Today 12:30 P.M. EDT)
Tuesday, May 11, 2010 | Kristinn

Posted on 05/11/2010 7:11:30 AM PDT by kristinn

I'm scheduled to be on the G. Gordon Liddy show today at 12:30 p.m. EDT to talk about tomorrow's Flaunt the American Flag Day.

Listen live here at Radio America.

In addition to the reasons for Flaunt the American Flag Day in the original announcement below, we learned this week of one more affront to our nation's flag and patriotism (from Marooned in Marin):

Now Drawing An American Flag Is Offensive In Salinas, CA

More liberal absurdity from Northern California, not too far south from Morgan Hill (Fox Radio, Todd Starnes).

The battle over the American flag has reached a middle school art class in California’s Santa Rita School District where a student was told not to draw Old Glory because it was “offensive,” while another student was praised for drawing a picture of President Obama.

Tracy Hathaway, of Salinas, CA, told FOX News Radio her 13-year-old daughter was ordered to stop drawing the American flag and start another project at Gavilan View Middle School.

“She had drawn the flag and was sketching the letters, ‘God bless America,’ when the teacher confronted her,” Hathaway told FOX. “She said, ‘You can’t draw that – that’s offensive.’”

Even more striking, another student in the same art class drew a picture of President Obama and was praised by the teacher.

“The picture of Barack Obama was in red, white and blue hues,” Hathaway said. “ The teacher said it was great. But when it comes to the flag – all of a sudden it was offensive?”

Original Flaunt the American Flag Day announcement:

I am posting this announcement with Jim Thompson's blessing and support.

Patriotic Americans all across the nation are being called on to 'flaunt the American flag' on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 by wearing patriotic-themed clothing such as American flag style shirts, blouses, ties or jackets; American flag lapel pins or brooches; and by displaying the American flag at home, on your car or at your desk at work. You can even carry an American flag with you as you make your rounds on Wednesday and really flaunt that flag!

This is being done as a show of support for the American families in Morgan Hill, California whose students attending Live Oak High School were ordered to remove their American flag style shirts so as to not offend Mexican students on Cinco de Mayo last week.

Offended Mexican students walked out of class the next day and staged a protest march demanding "respect" for "our holiday" by demanding Americans not display the American flag on American soil.

One protester, Luis Jimenez, was videotaped by KNTV-TV saying, "Yesterday, it was our holiday, Cinco de Mayo. All of, like, the Americans thought they could wear their flags and just flaunt them in front of us."

Another Mexican protester was videotaped by KRON-TV ripping an American flag out of the hands of an American that same day.

In response, please send this message: We Americans will flaunt our flag on our soil anytime we please. If some folks don't like that, we have an old saying for them, "America, love it or leave it!"

Please e-mail and post this call to action on blogs, Facebook, Twitter and send it to your local and national Tea Party groups and talk radio hosts.

(Note to all the race-baiting liberals and weak-kneed David Brooks types, this is not about race, or even about Mexico. This is about Americans standing up for America on American soil. If you can't handle displays of patriotism, the same message above applies to you too.)

If anyone asks who started this and why May 12, just say it was started by a TEA-ed off American and May 12 just seems like a good day to wear the red, white and blue.

I usually only fly my Betsy Ross Flag on the 4th of July.

I'll fly it tomorrow as well.

To: kristinn; All

it is more than a flag. it is a symbol for those that have fallen for this country.

and it is the line that won’t be crossed.

Mine too Joe. Mine is the ONLY American flag flying in our neighborhood.:( Though lots of folks don't have a problem flying other decorator type flags on their homes. And the post flag flying after 9/11 was a long time ago for far too many folks.

We will never forget.

It was at about 12:40 and lasted about 15 minutes...good coverage of the flaunt the flag and discussion of the T-shirt boys and the girl whose drawing of the flag angered her teacher too.

I bet this reached a different audience. Even G.Gordon seemed to be uninformed about some of it.

Thanks Kristinn...I would have missed it today.

Oh, by the way. There is already a National Flaunt the American Flag Day. June 14th. Check your calendar.

I am all for such displays and its not that bad an idea.. but its kind of silly to have this one month before the "real" thing.

Unless we plan to do it again on June 14th.

I could get down with that..
