"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank all that high on the truth meter," Obama said at Hampton University, Virginia.
"With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations--none of which I know how to work--information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation," Obama said. He bemoaned the fact that "some of the craziest claims can quickly claim traction," in the clamor of certain blogs and talk radio outlets. "All of this is not only putting new pressures on you, it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy."
In Barack Obama's day, they didn't have these newfangled "Internet" contraptions. You wanted to communicate, you went to the telegraph office. And they didn't have any of this fancy "global warming" in those days either. You'd walk 10 miles through the snow to get there, and it was uphill both ways!
In his day, if you wanted information, you didn't need some "computer" gizmo. You read the paintings on the cave walls. "Hunter, hunter, dinosaur, woolly mammoth, woolly mammoth."
That was democracy, we tell ya! And what in the Sam Hill is an "Xbox"? They didn't need "video" games when Barack was a lad. His favorite game was Stick. A bunch of kids would find a stick, and they'd play with it for hours! Yes sir, back then, they knew how to have fun.

Obama HATES the Internet because it contains damning information of his activities and his verbal faux pas. I have noticed whenever he or one of his minions accidentally speaks the truth that the info is scrubbed within a day. Remember Pelosi telling Stephanopolis ‘Americans over 55 use entirely too much of our Health Care resources’? Not on the Internet anymore. How about Obama reciting the Irish Prime Minister’s speech on the teleprompter instead of his own? Impossible to find now. Zero’s Internet Wizards do a great job covering his tracks.
