Thank you. And remember that FReeper Yomin Postelnik is also running for a House seat from Florida.

I think this RABBI YEHUDA LEVIN, has run for office under the name Lew Y. Levin, including Mayor of New York, in 1985 on the Right to Life Party.

Can anyone confirm? This link seems to do so.

Joseph Hayon is a great candidate and a champion of religious freedom. I’ve had several great talks with him.

He did. He seems like a pretty much stand up man.

The reason Weiner is not representing his district properly is that he is really running for mayor. His congressional district is more conservative than the city as a whole, and he doesn't want any conservative positions to come back and bite him when he runs in 2013, we should all live so long.

Similar to Rick Perry's strategy: Since he's really running for president in 2013, he's not properly representing the state of Texas. Maybe he also doesn't want to be seen as following Arizona's lead, since that might diminish his image as a leader. Too bad for Texas.

Another Republican, Bob Turner, is also running.
They are both good guys. However, given the demographics of the district, a Jew like Hayon would do better.

Why do so many good candidates have to run against each other? In a neighboring district three different candidates are tearing each other apart over who is most conservative. I don't see what good can come of such internecine ideological bloodshed.

Downside of the Tea Party movement.

Another problem: Turner is closely associated with Mike Long, and will likely get the “Conservative” Party endorsement.

We have the same problem with Gillibrand’s seat, which should have been a slam-dunk, with her voting not to defund ACORN and generally being the president’s bath mat.

Blakeman, the party designee, is terrific; Malpass also will be on the primary ballot as a result of the convention vote and refuses to drop out, although he is a less convincing candidate and is tainted with his Bear Stearns involvement; and if that were not enough, we have Dioguardi, the Conservative choice, trying to get into the Republican primary through petitions. All the ones who fail to get on the primary ballot through petitions may further endanger us by running independently with some cockamamie party name. How about the Let’s F Up the Republicans’ Chances of Winning This Seat Party?

Don’t get me started on the Conservative Party, or the Long Fiefdom. AS a conservative who worked to open up Republican nominations, I am appalled that the Conservative nomination is basically the choice of Long and his county chairmen.

It’s also weak-incumbent fever. Everyone sees an opportunity. That’s why we have so many amateurs running, in way over their heads.
