Should Russia give it away for free? Russia needs a Black Sea port. At least they're willing to pay for it.

That Yanukovich would mend relations with Moscow wasn't lost on the Ukrainian electorate. The pro-West faction of Yushchenko and Tymoshenko had their chance to lead Ukraine and squandered it. So back to the warm embrace of Mother Russia Ukraine goes.
