WASHINGTON (AP) - A former senior executive at the National Security Agency was charged Thursday with lying and obstruction of justice in an investigation of leaks of classified information to a newspaper. Federal prosecutors said Thomas Drake, 52, served as a source for many articles about the NSA in an unidentified newspaper, including articles that contained classified information.

It’d be great if we did substantiate an connection between Berger and Drake. I think Berger is pretty much layered in protection, though.

And I will never understand why the Bush admin didn’t prosecute him. Must’ve been some really damning stuff he stole.

Made me mad that the jerk got away with it. Just another example of Bush being too nice? Or was the fear that a trial would reveal too much classified info? I am sure that whatever Berger stole was damning to Clinton and himself.

The most puzzling angle in the story,though, for me was the fact that there were no copies of the documents. How can that be?

If they want classified info, they just need to hang around bars where intelligence folks gather on the weekend. People get pretty loose when they’re drinking.
