The Florida legislature has passed a bill to get rid of TENURE, and make teachers DEMONSTRATE kids are learning.
Charlie Crist, aka Obama Huggin' Weasel, may veto the bill.

It should take them about ten seconds to replace these teachers; there are laid off teachers from coast to coast these days.

The teachers (union) doesn’t like the fact that performance is tied to their compensation. The bill isn’t perfect but its certainly a step in the right direction.
Crist will most likely veto the bill though. He’s having a hissy fit with the Florida GOP because they won’t just give him the senate ticket.

Miami-Dade schools ready for Monday's sickout (Teachers Won't Show up? Fire them.) Better yet, shut the schools down and rent the buildings to someone who wants to run a real school.

Not sure it will be easy to replace them with qualified teachers. It’s Miama-Dade. Would you work there?

Tell you what, why don't YOU step into my inner city classroom and TEACH for a week. I'll even provide you with lesson plans and resources. All you have to do is keep control of the class, TEACH the material and grade the 200+ papers each week. Last year we had a teacher jumped outside his class right across the hall from mine (I was out sick that day) by an entire family who took offense that the teacher had confiscated the female studen't iPod. The girl SLAPPED the teacher on the spot and was taken by security. According to board policy she should have been arrested but the liberal principal then said poor thing, not her fault and put her on outdoor suspension (vacation). So the family consisting of crackhead mom and other sister and golden gloves boxer brother jumps the teacher and they break his jaw in three places. Gee all that and a tiny paycheck too! Walk a mile in my shoes before you shoot your big mouth off in reference to something about which you are totally ignorant.
