Trying to find the middle ground is not necessarily going to be something they (Cornyn, or any other GOP member) will actually accept...Or even agree with...
I would do this if I was in their place, but I would not just accept a “middle ground” position just because I went out to try and find one...
When they locked us out of the healthcare debate, and any input we had was summarily crushed by straight party-line votes...
Well, it seems to me that the opposition certainly doesn’t want to find any middlke ground on any issue...
So just because someone is public about seeking out something like this doesn’t mean they are going to buy it...
It may be a strategy to get them to show their cards on the issue...Without really supporting their policy or idea...
Just thinking outside the box...
I take people at their word. Cornyn says he is looking for a middle ground on amnesty. That is what he means; that is what he’s doing. If he means something else, he should say it.
