Governors Receive Threats From Extremist Group (Freedom of Speech now considered "threats")

Governors around the country said Friday that they had received letters from an extremist group warning that they might be forcibly removed from office if they did not step down within three days.

Officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that they had sent out an intelligence note with information about potential threats to governors from a group calling itself the Guardians of the Free Republics.

The note was sent to state police officials in the last few days.

In a joint statement, the federal agencies said: “The F.B.I. and the Department of Homeland Security are not aware of any immediate or credible threats of violence as part of this group’s plan. Threat assessments are issued on a regular basis and out of an abundance of caution to inform our federal, state, local and tribal partners about possible threats to the homeland.”

It added that the agencies were “working with state and local authorities and continue to assess the matter.”

These threats come from intolerant people. If they came from tolerant people then they would not be seen as violent threats.

“Forcibly remove” is not speech. It’s a threat.

I just hope they are for real. If so better days are ahead.
They are saying the military and supremes are in on their
plan. Obama has bankrupted America and just maybe the
pentagon has seen the light. (it’s about time)

““The F.B.I. and the Department of Homeland Security are not aware of any immediate or credible threats of violence as part of this group’s plan.”

So the FBI doesn’t see it as a threat but they consider it a threat?
Why is this even being reported if it’s just kooky letters?
This is nothing more than the Government trying to silence critics, making them think that if they express themselves they will be considered a threat.

This was not a threat, it’s the feds trying to silence critics using “first impressions”. If it had been a threat then someone would be in jail right now and the feds wouldn’t have come out later and said it was a threat.

-- "Forcibly remove" is not speech. It's a threat. --

If you look at the entire event in context, including the letters to the governors, the FBI comes off as "abundance of caution" times ten thousand. Or, as helping to stir the pot.

From Wikipedia:

During the week of March 31, 2010, over 30 governors received letters from the group, warning them to leave office within three days or be removed. Governor Mike Beebe of Arkansas said, "It basically said, resign, ask for forgiveness and then we'll reinstate you, and if you sign this we'll consider you re-elected." The FBI has said that it expects all 50 governors to receive the letters. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are investigating, but do not believe the group is violent. Regardless, some investigators believe the letters could cause others to commit violent acts.
From a different news story, "The FBI has not released the letters. The bureau said they contain no direct threat but asserted that their implied threat to governors could serve to spark lone-wolf violence."

Now, but for the FBI making the letters a matter for public concern, how could the letters cause others to commit violent acts? Not that the letters will (cause or spark violence), mind you, but if they would (or even could), why make a big public stink and give the letters substantially wider play and bigger audience? It's a version of throw stones, and see which dogs yelp.

Could be.

Turns out goftr.com and guardiansofthefreerepublics.com are registered to one Clive Boustred of Soquel, California - a British-educated former South African soldier with an apparent knack for "anti-terrorist warfare," computer consulting, and conspiracy theorizing. The sites - and the "group" - appear not to have existed before he registered them, about two months ago.

Even as conspiracy mavens go, Boustred is a fascinating study. He's prominent on YouTube as a decrier of Jesuit, Masonic, Rothschild, and Fed conspiracies. As with many such folks, his anti-courts, anti-government anger appears to have originated with a personal legal beef - a weird story involving an ex-wife, infidelity, a restraining order, an "assassination attempt," and chocolate-chip cookies. He appears to have Astroturfed a number of other "companies" and organizations - Liberty for Life, Copper Cards, Strategize.com, and InfoTelesys.com

“no direct threat but asserted that their implied threat to governors could serve to spark lone-wolf violence”

So the feds have NO threat but now Freedom Of Speech could spark violence so it's considered a threat?

This government has us in a box and there is no escape. If we say Obama should be impeached and removed from office then I guess that could be a threat.

This is a Rahm Emanuel trick. It is so obvious to me
that with the media attack on the “tea partiers”
by wrongly accusing us with aggressive behavior (spitting, n-word, vitriol) after the passing of the health insurance
takeover. Now Governors of certain states are now threaten
by “GUARDIANS OF THE FREE REPUBLICS”! HELLO !!1
This is a blatant attempt to smear people who
actually love our form of Constitutional Republic.
Confuse the masses, disinformation as it were.
Remember, if you love our Constitution, you need
to be watched, according to Big Sis (nee butch) Janet N.

This is all a setup to a pretext to eliminate all opposition. if I were not in this country I would say they are preparing a decapitation strike ala “night of the long knives” after the reichstag fire pretext that Hitler used to wipe out opposition. This is how marxists think and act as the attacks intensify we will wake up one morning to the MSM announcement that massive arrests have been made after uncovering a massive conspiracy to overthrow the anointed one. They will suspend the constitution and declare a state of emergency. Classic dictatorial tactic..
