Border violence threatens Americans
Washington times ^ | April 1, 2010 | Ben Conery and Jerry Seper

Posted on 04/02/2010 8:52:25 AM PDT by AuntB

...According to the State Department: 79 U.S. citizens were killed last year in Mexico, up from 35 in 2007. In Juarez, just across the Rio Grande from El Paso, Texas, 23 Americans were killed in 2009, compared with two in 2007.

J.D. Hayworth, joined in the call for National Guard troops to be stationed along the border.

Mr. Hayworth said the federal government should "act now and step up its efforts to secure our borders."

Mr. Krentz was killed Saturday.... found by a Cochise County Sheriff's Department helicopter, slumped over his Polaris all-terrain vehicle . His dog was shot and was critically wounded. The animal was euthanized .

National Drug Intelligence Center.. described the cartels as "the single greatest drug trafficking threat to the United States." Mexican gangs had established operations in every area of the United States and were expanding into more rural and suburban areas.

.... assaults against Border Patrol agents increased 46 percent from 752 incidents in fiscal 2007 to 1,097 incidents in 2008 - including the January 2008 killing of an agent by the automobile of a fleeing drug suspect and the fatal shooting of another agent in July 2009.

... drug criminals have followed and harassed U.S. citizens traveling in their vehicles, travelers on major highways have been targeted for robbery and violence and others have been caught in incidents of gunfire ...

Since January 2008, nearly 5,000 homicides have been committed in Ciudad Juarez ... The bodies of some have been dumped in schoolyards and other public venues. Others were killed with grenades and AK-47 assault rifles. .... have been decapitated, their bodies hung from bridges - along with banners with warning messages from the cartels.

This is a good 3 page report. It was forwarded by Mike Cutler with this note:

“Several months ago, Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano stated that some 230 American cities were infested by members of the Mexican drug cartels. Many of these cities are located hundreds, if not thousands of miles from the border that is supposed to separate the United States from Mexico.

As I noted when I appeared on MSNBC a couple of weeks ago, the cartels in Mexico operate in a very different manner as compared with the way that criminals in the United States have generally operated. Members of the Mafia in the United States almost never intentionally targeted law enforcement officials for fear that they would be “calling in an airstrike on their own position,” in a manner of speaking.

The theory was that if you killed a cop or a federal agent, you would unleash an onslaught of unimagined proportions against your criminal organization. Additionally, the mob generally did not kill family members of rival organizations and didn’t even generally kill an adversary in front of his family.

The Mexican cartels have no compunctions against any of the above restrictions. They often seek to kill law enforcement officials and members of the military. They often target prosecutors and anyone else who stands in their way. The Mexican drug organizations, not unlike a cancerous and metastasizing cancerous tumor, have no rules! They seek to dominate by corrupting everyone and anyone they need to. Those who will not accept a bribe are often killed and the more violently the better!

Will our nation have to suffer the extreme levels of violence now considered routine in parts of Mexico before our leaders take the appropriate action?

Today our nation is bleeding red and green! The red is the blood of our citizens and other living in the United States who are falling victim to violent criminal aliens including members of the cartels and other criminal organizations from the four corners of the world. The green is the cash flowing our of our country to fill the coffers of criminal organizations in Mexico and other nations around the world.”

After the elections in November, the Tea Party needs to focus on our borders while gearing up for the elections in 2012. If the borders and illegal problems aren’t fixed, to the satisfaction of Americans, prior to the elections, then replace the President and Democrats that wouldn’t fix the problem. Focus needs to be placed on the border by the Tea Party. It is the stronges organization we have to do this. Especially since Washington won’t do it.

A news story covering the murder of Arizona cattle rancher Rob Krentz cited www.BorderInvasionPics.com and www.SecureBorderIntel.org as proof that the border is no where near as secure as DHS has claimed. Both “BIP” and “SBI” show videos and images of real smuggling activity in different parts of the border. We are back to where we were five years ago with individual efforts solving the problem of securing the border, not large scale political or financial based efforts.

http://www.azfamily.com/video/featured-videos/Border-websites-adding-fuel-to-fire-in-wake-of-ranchers-murder-89659202.html

BIP contains images of thousands of different suspected illegal aliens and tons of narcotics dating back to October 2008. Over 200,000 people have visited the site to date. SBI is a little over one month old with a similar mission, adding an objective experience based assessment of weaknesses in border security and solutions to solving those problems. The experience was gained in securing over a mile of border in one of the worst smuggling zones in San Diego Sector. It takes more than just a fence, or Border Patrol Agents, cameras, sensors, or armed troops. The situation at the border is bad enough to warrant all of these elements. The U.S. government’s latest approach apparently involves bankrupting America to make entering the country illegally less attractive. This statement is not political rhetoric, it is based comments made by both elected and appointed officials who have made claims that illegal immigration is in decline due to the down turn in the U.S. economy.

The following two links will take you to the latest videos from each site.

http://www.borderinvasionpics.com/Invasion.html - 700 suspected illegal aliens on one trail in one month.

http://secureborderintel.org/Camera1-tjtaxi.html -Ten trucks each hauling dozens of suspected illegal aliens north circumventing DHS vehicle checkpoints.

Neither of these efforts solicits donations, seeks political power or membership. The goal is to expose the often covert nature of smuggling operations so Americans can make informed decisions when voting candidates into or out of office.

To my way of thinking the first person shot, the first person killed SHOULD have caused a reaction within our government initiating the beginning of the end of Mexican drug cartels violence in our country. The borders SHOULD have been secured, and the drug cartels SHOULD have been caused to understand their aggression as futile. The Mexican gangs in the cities across our country SHOULD have been rounded up, and zero tolerance made perfectly clear.

Drugs kill, and drugs screw up lives. Dealers should be treated accordingly. They should be treated in court the same as murderers IMO.

If congress and the president rammed thru healthcare against the will of the people, what makes you think they won’t or can’t ram thru amnesty? They may even be able to pick up some RINO’s. They will however, have to do this before November, as many of them won’t be coming back, so this is their best and only shot.

They also know that if they do this, it will eventually guarantee them a permanent majority. Of course it will kill America as we know it too.

I understand what you are saying and I totally agree. What I am saying is that after the elections, total focus by the Tea Party should be on the illegals and the border.

Agreed, but I think they’ll push amnesty before the elections or shove it through in a lame duck session.

You are most likely correct. But.....in case they don’t, have a major plan put together. If we don’t, then I believe the American people will eventually “Lock and Load” and we don’t really want to have to be put in that position. We are already seeing that around the rancher that was killed a few days ago.

This is why I don’t go to Mexico anymore, even though I live about 150 miles away from the border. It is also why I am armed.

I would be very surprised if the Tea Party gets involved with the border issues. Plain and simple, no one cares. The reason politicians have been getting away with not securing our borders is because most people just don’t care. Even here on FR, the threads about the border issues, even the posts that explain how border issues effect the rest of the country- get very little interest. Check the border threads- very few posts, it seems to me only those of us that live on the border care what happens here.

I think it is the same old story- money talks and illegals provide cheap labor. Some are willing to sell out this country for cheap labor. Illegals are not cheap labor when you add on the cost to all the taxpayers for the medical care and other social programs illegals take advantage of. Illegal labor is not cheap when you count the cost of money and lives lost to illegals and drugs coming from South of the border. Supporting illegals in jails and prisons across the country is not cheap either. Truth is most cannot see the border issues beyond cheap labor and sympathy for the illegals.

Another thing people don’t realize is that every casino that goes in, illegals follow and crime hits the cieling. We have that problem in our area. Car theft and home break ins sky rocketed.
