President Obama says First Family won't join a D.C. church
The American Thinker ^ | March 31, 2010 | Peter Barry Chowka

On Monday, March 29, 2010, President Obama was interviewed by NBC News and portions were broadcast on the Today show on March 30. According to the The Caucus blog at the New York Times:

"Mr. Obama said he would not select a church while living in the White House. 'What we have decided for now is not to join a single church, and the reason is because Michelle and I have realized we are very disruptive to services,' he said.

Instead, he said he would from time to time visit St. John's Church, across Lafayette Square from the White House, where many presidents have worshiped. He also said the family prefers to worship in the privacy of the presidential retreat when it spends the weekend there. 'We love the chapel at Camp David,' he said.

And he noted that he is sent a daily devotional on his BlackBerry."

On October 13, 2009, a column in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution answered a reader's question:

I’m suprised he hasn’t had a mosque installed at Camp David. Those devotionals sent to his Blackberry...verses from the koran?

Michelle and I have realized we are very disruptive to services

Oh please, President's have been attending church services in DC for years. Once again his arrogance is showing...shy would his presence be anymore disruptive than other President's in the past. I'm sure DC folk are used to having Presidents come to church services.

Why would he go to a church.

That would be anathema to his Muslim faith.

God protect America and bind this Marxist in the Oval Office.

The liar has a big hole in his dead heart for the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

He must be having a real problem finding a “church” that foments a sufficient amount of hate for America and whitey.

What a bunch of CRAP! Have they decided to join a mosque?

Michelle and I have realized we are very disruptive to services

This doesn't keep her from sasaying her fat a** all over the country and disrupting peoples lives simply because she wants to "shop". I guess that's ok. Remember her little jaunt into DC where they had to shut down several streets and shops, not to mention their HI "vacation"(one of many in their first year)where they cost tour groups thousands of dollars in lost revenue. BTW, someone must have clued the idiot in chief in about his vacations, I notice he has slowed down on them and now just sends Michelle and the kids on little junkets.

What a surprise. (sarc) My Mom and I were just discussing this the other day. This whole “we’re a distraction” thing is merely an excuse to avoid going to church. He can’t go to Wright’s anymore, and he can’t attend a similar church (if there is one) in D.C for political reasons. Therefore, he’s come up with an excuse. If God was a priority to him, he would want to ensure that he and his family got to church on Sunday. It’s not like he is opposed to attention, so being a “distraction” shouldn’t bother him. Besides, past Presidents have gone to church and never had a problem. He simply can’t find a traditional church with teachings he agrees with.

Of course not! Everyone else is supposed to be worshipping him! So of course he can’t go around pretending to worship someone, or something, else. Besides which, it offends his marxist base.

goat fornicators generally don’t attend a “church” unless it’s to pillage, rape and plunder.

Obama thinks he is God.

Its a religious experience every time he looks in the mirror.

Actually, President Reagan did the same thing... he didn’t want the services to be about him, when they should be about Him. Other Presidents have skipped attending church for the same reason as BO states here.

Seems to me a president especially needs to go to church for divine guidance. I remember President Bush stating on more than one occasion that he looked to the Lord for guidance and that his faith kept him grounded. As stated up-thread local residents are used to the disruption. So Obama is winging it with a daily devotional on his blackberry. And who knows if he’s going to the chapel at Camp David occasionally? None of this gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
