Nobody is predicting he day and hour here.
While nobody knows the day or the hour, we can read the signs that Jesus Himself gave us to be aware that His coming is near. Jesus Himself told us that.
Otherwise, what would the point be of Him warning us to watch and be ready?
Even the bridemaids with their lamps were watching, waiting, and expecting, even though they didn’t know the exact hour.
Amen - thank you - and please carry on.
I have to leave shortly - and will not be back on this thread til later today.
I would not be surprised to see the Lord Jesus Christ “speak” very clearly today in events of the day - adding to His invitation to anybody, everybody, everywhere - to come to Him! NOW!
Stop trying to read the signs ... begin to understand the word of God.

It seems that the people of that time (when Jesus was around) would understand that phrase as an idiom pointing to one of the Seven Festivals of the Messiah (as I pointed out in another post, Post #202) -- The Feast of Trumpets. It was the one in which no one knew the day or hour of its coming... you see... :-)
In fact, I have read some commentators who said some were expecting Christ exactly WHEN he came, because of signs. Maybe not the day or the hour, but I think they could have a general idea of the time frame in years.
From a pre-trib point of view, I see all prophecy being fulfilled for the rapture.
From an overall view I'm waiting for construction to begin on the new temple. And a great war with Israel by a huge coalition of muslim nations, possibly led by Russia, lasting MAYBE DAYS, possibly HOURS. And a 7 YEAR peace treaty, agreed by, and overseen by a rapidly risen world leader or statesman.
Not necessarily in that order.
