“If the government enforced the border there wouldnt be
illegals.”
Untrue. 1/3rd of the illegals came here legally and then overstayed their visas. It isn’t just a borders issue.
If we ever seal the borders, those people spending $5,000 on a coyote to smuggle them across will instead save more money, wait for a tourist visa, then come here and disappear into the population.
The illegal immigrant issue cannot be solved at the borders. The borders should be closed up for security reasons, but it will barely slow the illegals who are here for work and welfare reasons. To get them to stop coming, you need to turn them away when they apply for a job, when they try to rent housing, when they try to open bank accounts, when they try to put their kids in school, when they show up for medical treatment, when they are arrested for petty crimes, etc.
If you say employers should not be held to account, then the only other method for finding and deporting these illegals is police and ICE raids on every single business every single week. Because if you don’t punish even those businesses that are caught, they’ll refill those positions with more illegals the very next day. Either honest Americans in every sector of the economy cooperate with the law, or the law has to do all the work itself, resulting in a police state.

Close the borders FIRST. Limit Visas, periodically
check visas, if we can have NICS we can do the same for
job application, bank accounts, schools and medical treatment.
Under the current law why would only employers be subject,
Banks, schools, and medical facilities who deal or treat illegals should then be subject to the same penalties.
