THERE were times when last Sundays great G.O.P. health care implosion threatened to bring the thrill back to reality television. On ABCs This Week, a frothing and filibustering Karl Rove all but lost it in a debate with the Obama strategist David Plouffe. A few hours later, the perennially copper-faced Republican leader John Boehner revved up his Hell no, you cant! incantation in the House chamber instant fodder for a new viral video remixing his rap with will.i.ams Yes, we can! classic from the campaign. Boehner, having previously likened the health care bill to Armageddon, was now so apoplectic you had to wonder if he had just discovered one of its more obscure revenue-generating provisions, a tax on indoor tanning salons.
But the laughs evaporated soon enough. Theres nothing entertaining about watching goons hurl venomous slurs at congressmen like the civil rights hero John Lewis and the openly gay Barney Frank. And as the week dragged on, and reports of death threats and vandalism stretched from Arizona to Kansas to upstate New York, the F.B.I. and the local police had to get into the act to protect members of Congress and their families.
How curious that a mob fond of likening President Obama to Hitler knows so little about history that it doesnt recognize its own small-scale mimicry of Kristallnacht. The weapon of choice for vigilante violence at Congressional offices has been a brick hurled through a window. So far.
No less curious is how disproportionate this red-hot anger is to its proximate cause. The historic Obama-Pelosi health care victory is a big deal, all right, so much so it doesnt need Joe Bidens adjective to hype it. But the bill does not erect a huge New Deal-Great Society-style government program.

Informal Poll....
Who will cease to be a functioning enterprise first, the NYT or the Democrat party?
Lil Fwankie has his tutu wadded up his crack again.
Frank Rich just called me a Nazi.
I think a more appropriate comparison would be the burning of the Reichstag. This was done by the Nazis and blamed on other groups in a successful effort for the Nazis to gain power. The real question is who threw the bricks and made the phone calls. Phone calls are traceable. Show us the evidence. Until then I will stick with the theory of a false flag exercise by the liberals.
As an aside it must be noted that the Tea-party movement has and is very law abiding and non violent. The hard radical left has a history of extreme violence inclusive of murder and genocide starting with the Russian revolution in 1917.
One of the great questions of our time has been how could the country of Goethe and Schiller have produced a Hitler? We are experiencing the answer.
I forgot to mention that NAZI is the acronymn for the National Socialist Party. Hitler was from the left, not the right!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's precisely why Frank Rich is so angry with Karl Rove. You will notice that Rich(an economics professor), doesn't even bother to challenge Rove’s facts and figures, but instead launches a vicious personal attack on Rove. Classic Alinski tactics.
Begin with the repitition of a lie i.e. the John Lewis incident, and Rich’s column swiftly goes downhill like a gigantic flood of sewage. Anyone wanting to know why Nazism if far closer to progressivism than conservatism should read Jonah Goldberg’s excellent “Liberal Fascism.” Clearly, someone like Rich does not want to acknowledge the close ties to communism and Nazism. It might prick the leftist bubble of ignorance he has enclosed himself in.
Why so timid? How about 100%?
Huh? Try limp wristed theater critic.
Yep. It matters not how thoroughly debunked this non-incident has been. It's now a permanent part of the left's play book.
I called into a Twin City radio show to confront a couple of lefties that were prattling on about what a shame it was that racists were shouting at poor John Lewis. They were simply amazed that anybody would question an obvious truth like that. One of them actually asked me why if I truly thought Lewis would lie about such a thing, and what motivation would he possibly have for doing so. After the call they both affirmed that they believed the incident took place simply because nobody has proven it didn't, as if that's where the burden should lie. Where are the videos your aides took on their cell phones, Mr. Lewis?
This looks like a tailor-made “incident” that the left loves to cook up. All they had to do is march the Dem pols through the already vocal protesters and then claim someone shouted a racial epithet. Lewis is a legitimate veteran of civil rights marches looked at the Tea Partiers and thought “the Klan is back.” Naturally Big Media is more than a willing accomplice to spread the lie.
Wont be happy till circulation is down 70% !!!
Why so timid? How about 100%?
My bad.
Down to 100% ...
We know that won’t last long.
When premiums shoot through the roof, ‘bammy & crew will blame the “private businesses” and demand the “only solution” of single payer.
This is the intermediate goal.
The long term goal is to have the power to deny political opponents medical care.
