Reid: We have votes for Senate fix-it bill
NY Post ^ | March 20, 2010 | AP

WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he has enough votes to push changes in the health care overhaul bill through the Senate.

House leaders expect to pass the Senate's version of the legislation tomorrow.

House Democrats want to make changes in that bill — and those fixes will come in a different measure that would require the Senate's OK.

House Democrats have been worried that their changes might die in the Senate and leave representatives vulnerable to campaign attacks.

But Reid was at a meeting of House Democrats today and tried to reassure them.

He said he had "the commitment of a significant majority" of Senators to help send health care legislation to the White House.

Reid says a lot of things that are total BS. "Fix" a bill that caused so much Senate warfare so easily? I seriously doubt it. In fact, if the reconciliation package dies a slow death I won't be surprised.

I don’t think the Senate health care bill will be passed by the House today — it is an albatross that will destroy the Democratic party — and most dems know it.

The greatest thing that could happen is the health care bill gets killed and the Democrats are left to eat their own.

Who can believe anything coming out of there? It all seems like a total farce. I could not even watch FOXNEWS yesterday because they had to report the crooked “scheme” minute by minute..I just couldn’t take it.

Catch 22, if they vote yes they get kicked to the curb if they vote no they get kicked to the curb for letting us think they were going to vote yes. Curb tossing finally comes down to arrogant, deceitful, self engrandizing, anti American, political whores who decieved the American voter. 6:15 p.m.: If the reconciliation bill passes, the House will immediately vote on the Senate bill, without debate.

The traitor cowards are going to vote for their reconciliation package first, and then the senate bill without any debate.

Damn them all and vote them out in November. If 276 democrats can overthrow our Republic without firing a shot, we'll have to make them pay.

Fight on and pray!

It would not surprise me if five or six “yes” votes that were assumed...suddenly turned into no votes. As folks who signed on early...watch various partners who waited it out and got special favors...they have to be furious about the promises made and where this has gone.

We will end up with the Senate bill as the final bill. The fix it bill will never be passed!

The Democrats are running a huge risk here. If they drop demon pass, they will end up approving the Senate bill, as is, and it will be sent to the President to sign. Once it is a law, the “fix” bill (which would also have passed the House today), will go to the Senate for approval.

Two things could happen: the GOP could make hay with the procedural issues, challenging every fix as not being a budget issue (required for Reconciliation), or they roll and the Senate just passes the fixes and the “improved” bill becomes law.

I think the Senate will have a hard time even getting 51 votes for the fix bill AND the GOP will fight every way. Either of these options will result in the original Senate bill (with all the garbage) being the law of the land. Obama couldn't care less. He just wants a bill, any bill, to sign.

As I have posted before, this was always the game plan and all the noise in the House was just to get an approval of the Senate bill as is, and get it signed. Then, on to immigration reform!

I STILL don’t see how this is constitutional. How can the House pass fixes to a bill that it has not passed and the President has not signed?

Someone please explain this to me.

I had Fox on almost all Day Saturday, in background mode, and it was one of the finest Fox news days ever.

The news that dems dropped the “deemed passed” approach came to me from Fox news; and it made my day.

If this Socialist Welfare Bill manages to pass. It will Never be sent back to the Senate. The “ Zero “ will sign it and we will all become Socialists at that point. I cannot believe that after fighting the Commies in Nam, that this could ever happen back home ? What the Hell are so-called Americans thinking ? Have people completely lost their minds?

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Sunday March 21st.

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!
