W-M has been raising prices for the last year. Thus lowering them is just getting back to regular prices.

My local wallyworld charges $2.78 for 10 Oz of the honey wheat large pretzels that were $1.66 in Jan 09. My local HEB charges 1.99 for their similar pretzels.

Franzia Cabernet Sauvignon @ WM = $14.78 (5L).
Franzia Cabernet Sauvignon @ HEB = $12.97 (5L).

Grated cheddar is cheaper @ HEB.

Goya honey is 5.99 Lb. @ WM, $4.99 @ HEB.

Many things, however, are cheaper @ WM.

It looks like we’re from the same area. I usually get groceries at HEB as they are really giving WM good competition, and it’s more convenient for me. Sam’s is better for paper products and pet stuff. Meat is also good at Sam’s. I know there is a Costco over on 183, but I don’t get over that way very often.

Yes but the HEB on I10 is party central on wknds. Now that is shopping.
Frankly I find shopping at Kroger is the most cost effect way to go.

I am a careful shopper. BUT HEB has the best meat.
