This was a procedural vote. I’m kind of surprised it was as close as it was. I kind of expected a party-line vote, for the most part, even from the “no” Democrats.
WE didn't, but 53 million voters on Nov 4, 2008 did.

No. This was a preemptive proposal put up by the GOP to explicitly prevent the 'rats from using the "Slaughter solution". It never had a prayer of passing, but the point was to force the vote and spotlight the trick.
Even 'rats who won't be voting for the actual "Slaughter solution" rule don't like having the minority party dictate the rules.
They run as pseudo democrats just to win an election. Then the real democrat comes out.
