Jessie Canfield was attending a surprise birthday party with family and friends when she began feeling discomfort and cramping then ducked into a bedroom for several hours. Partygoers told police she said nothing about giving birth to a 6-pound baby girl.

Everyone else was too busy snorting the lines of birthday blow or watching the stripper blow the birthday boy.
I agree. Over one million babies are murdered before they are born and the media doesn’t care.
I live near this incident. What was even worse was the comments allowed on the local news by the neighbors. One said “I can understand a 15 year old girl getting confused and doing something like this, but not a 24 year old!” (seriously) Another said “We need to get these girls some education” like it’s somebody else’s fault. What has happened to our society?

Very true. Had she done this a few months earlier they’d have never said a word.

It's ironic that for all the sex education that supposedly goes on in public schools these days (I am assuming the woman in question was a product of public schools) there is NO connection being made in people's minds between intercourse and pregnancy. She was likely taught "sex education" in grade school/jr. high/high school. There was information and counseling at the college she (probably) attended. Ignorance is not an excuse.
I thought about this when I was on an airport shuttle a few months ago and overheard a very young girl (USC or UCLA student) phoning in a prescription for birth control pills, along with one for acne medication. People have become so blase about birth control, the Pill is now about as essential as dental floss.
That mentality promotes the idea of a baby as an inconvenience.
I'm not letting the father of the child off the hook, either. He was taught "sex as recreation" too.
Wow, and to think she could have aborted the child as it was exiting the womb and would have been championed as a hero, instead of a murder suspect...God help our nation.
As the new dad of a former orphan, I can’t even stand to look at her orphanage pictures anymore. Needless to say, this story makes me want to vomit.
I agree. And the very idea of a 24 year old woman, not knowing she was pregnant??? Come on!!! And then dumping the baby like it’s so much garbage. No excuses for that. As far as the schools are concerned, they’ve done one sorry job.

Any woman who would do this to her baby should be sent to prison for life.
