this makes it sound like Fortney “mistakenly” claimed a homestead exemption on his property tax form (those dam confusing tax forms that require you to answer YES or NO), and that he never paid taxes at the reduced homestead rate
I don’t believe the first - why, Fortney is the mstratest eocnomics guy in the world. Dont question him or make him psend his time trying to educate you, unless you have a PhD from a GOOD School no less (Puetro Ricans need not bother)

and given the reporting I remember locally, I really doubt the second, that he never paid reduced taxes as a result of his false tax declaration ...maybe some more freeper research?

Yeah, of course, but we know, what the real reason are. On the other hand though, since he belongs to the rat party he would probably get away with it

The CA house is just his in-laws’ place? And he’s been in Congress for 37 years. And he’s stepping into Rangel’s loafers. Makes sense.

...the bipartisan House ethics committee... wrote in a November report, Stark "did not receive a tax credit as a result of filing an application for the credit" and "he did not file a false application for the Maryland tax credit." ...The OCE reported that it found "substantial reason to believe" that Stark misrepresented himself by filing a form in which he said he was registered to vote in Maryland. And after a news report about another congressman losing his primary-residence exemption, Stark called Maryland assessors and asked that the form be corrected -- which he denied doing during an interview with OCE staff in his office. The report also noted that Stark "was extremely belligerent and frequently insulted" OCE staff, who soon realized he was videotaping them.Thanks Kaslin.
