I sensed the same thing. Nose in the air. He’s pretending to listen. Does anybody have any idea what Witch Nancy is talking about?

I agree completely. Look at the way he leaned back once Alexander mentioned not going through with the reconciliation. His entire body language just shows that he isn’t open to bipartisanship... just a show.

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

Snip

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Bambi doesn't keep his promises...so buyer beware.

I noticed that Pelosi mentioned that there wasn’t time to start over. I hope one of the Republicans mentions that the health care legislation isn’t even scheduled to take effect until 2013 or later! There’s plenty of time to start over.

Reid sounds like he’s losing it already. We’re barely into this thing and someone as soft-spoken as Lamar Alexander has him all riled up and exasperated! LOL!

Lamar Alexander did an excellent job addressing specific points. Then Pelosi made it perfectly clear that she has no intention of embracing any idea by any Republican, including starting over. Harry Reid is making a campaign speech.

I’m watching this on Fox Business, and it is interesting to watch the market, as they watch this three ring circus over at Blair House. Let’s see how far down the Dhimmies can talk the markets today...

Pelosi says we can’t wait. People are hurting. The current bills don’t really start helping people for at least five years.

Reid, aka Mr. Peepers, is re-reexplaining how reconciliation is a realistic option. He’s trying to explain how the majority of bankruptcies are healthcare related. Then he wants to challenge the repubs to come up with a plan that reduces the deficit as much as their plan does.

i haven't heard anything yet other than packaged lies about how this current bill was created in a "bi-partisan" manner bla bla...

Just to be clear, I don't wan't a bi-partisan congress any more than I do this pig healthcare takeover bill.

Partisanship is the only thing keeping checks on foolishness.. and even THAT isn't working out very well lately.

Write responsible legislation and do it only when necessary... then partisanship won't be a problem.

Obama is now giving his sneaky response to reconciliation. ie. Let’s not talk about it.

Exactly. Let’s not talk about “process.” I want to hear Alexander again, though, responding to Reid.

He knows very well that the gap is huge and unbridge-able, and that this whole thing is therefore a farce, and a preule to pushing things through via reconciliation.
