A Green Tea Party

States' Rights: A revolt against economic hardship imposed by unelected bureaucrats based on junk science is brewing. This Tea Party movement wants the faulty finding on carbon dioxide to be reviewed and dumped.

They say you shouldn't mess with Texas, and on Tuesday the state filed suit to overturn the "endangerment" finding by the Environmental Protection Agency that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant that must be regulated.

CO2, the basis for all plant and therefore all animal life, was targeted early by environmental activists as the root cause of anthropogenic (man-made) global warming (AGW). But the Earth has cooled over the past decade, and reputable scientists predict the trend will likely continue for decades to come, influenced by natural phenomena such as ocean currents and solar activity.

According to research conducted by professor Don Easterbrook of Western Washington University, for example, the oceans and global temperatures are closely related. They have, he says, a natural cycle of warming and cooling that affects the planet.

The most important ocean cycle is the Pacific Decadal Oscillation. "The PDO cool mode," Easterbrook says, "has replaced the warm mode in the Pacific Ocean, virtually assuring us of three decades of global cooling."

Such solar and ocean cycles explain why the earth can cool and polar ice thicken even as CO2 levels continue to increase

I would really like to hear from fellow conservatives on this issue.

I am a small government conservative and would like to see a lot of departments closed or gutted.

Having said that, I believe the EPA is an agency that is justified in it's existence, although not in it's current form.

There should be an agency that has the power over the states regarding the quality of the air and water that all of us share. One state should not have the power to allow some sort of pollution to escape their borders without another state being allowed a powerful method for redress of grievances.

I think it should be restructured in such a way that individual states have more input into what it is able to actually regulate, rather than the latest cause du jour of Congress or the executive branch.

I'm very interested in others opinions.

That's certainly a valid point otherwise you would have states using each other as dumping grounds. The burden of cost of clean up should not fall to the state which is getting dumped on.

Houston has traffic speeds controlled by the EPA even though the pollutants we have blow in from other areas outside of our control.

I used to laugh at the notion that politicians would find a way to tax the air we breathe. Well, they've done it. They have found a way to tax ANYthing and EVERYthing.

The EPA is another government trap to serve both the interests of fascists and communists at the expense of US tax payers.

You can only siphon a tank for so long. Eventually, it’s gonna come up empty.

Green is red (commie not Republican).

There’s a huge difference between genuine environmental concerns and green Nazi BS. The EPA is run by advocates of the latter. First and foremost any environmental agency must be run and staffed by rational people only or it’s authority will be abused in the name of socialist fantasy.

Here is a first principle: Article I Section 1 “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United states . . .”

This is a power granted to the Congress by the states. There is no authorization to assign this power.

Imagine you granted a power of attorney to someone. That someone has no right to give that power to another.

Within the unelected true believer enviro-nazis at the EPA is the illegitimate raw power to write law, execute law and judge the guilt or innocence of violators. It is the very definition of tyranny as described by our framers.
