AUSTIN – The State of Texas ratcheted up its attack on the Obama administration's environmental policies on Tuesday, filing suit against the EPA over a declaration that could broaden government enforcement of carbon dioxide emissions.

Gov. Rick Perry, Attorney General Gregg Abbot and Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples announced the lawsuit at a joint news conference to declare that the two-month-old declaration is based on bogus conclusions and could cause billions of dollars of economic damage in Texas.

"The EPA's misguided plan paints a big target on the backs of Texas agriculture and energy producers and the hundreds of thousands of Texans they employ," Perry asserted.

Where else but Texas?

global warming is a LIE.

Thus there is NOTHING wrong with carbon dioxide emissions.

I wish Rick Perry was being elected every year. Election time is about the only time I see the guy having any guts.

You know the Rats (including the head DOJ asshat and Corruptocrat, Holder) will fight this tooth and nail, cuz they can NOT possibly allow any discovery whereby their entire faux data they relied on will be exposed and (not that it's anything new--see Second Hand Smoke and DDT rulings) the EPA will be exposed for the completely phony and useless agency it is.

Go Texas and let us hope other states join in this suit!

Texas is a weak governor state. Suits filed by the state are filed by the Attorney General, who is an elected official in his own right and not under the direction of the governor. Perry was just there to hog some of the lime light.

Every still half sane and half responsible state government should join this suit.

“Abbott said the finding is legally unsupported because of the agency’s reliance on the International Panel on Climate Change, which has been accused of basing its findings on discredited research and false claims.”

Someone’s been reading the failures of the IPCC.

Good thing this was an election year. They’ve been letting the EPA get away with all sorts of stuff, the go-along/get-along attitude before this.

Thanks AAC! Gotta wonder if the author of this article has a day job. For his sake, I hope so. Not only was it poorly written but I could just "sense" the anguish he felt not having any substantive material with which to counter Texas' blowback on the federales. May he have many Maalox Moments!

Lots of lawsuits going on re this EPA nonsense relying on dubious science and feral regulations based on same. Good to see Texas saddling up.
