(1) Palin lives real-life traditional American values. There is nothing phony or staged about her, which is why the base loves her. So for the author to say she's "cashing in checks" is pure hyperbole.
(2) Obviously, the author never listens to Rush or understands his satirical sense of humor, because Rush never called anyone retarded, per se.

Mention the nationwide Tea Party to progressives and the lame-stream media and it is like tossing a cat into a dog pound.
Mention Sarah Palin in the same breath and it is akin to dumping a whole box full of cats into a dog pound. The lame-stream media are so afraid of Palin and the Tea Party forces that they have stopped pretending to cover them in a fair and balanced manner. This is evident by watching the coverage of the Tea Party and Sarah Palin by commentators and supposedly hard news anchors of MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC.
The latest rash of vicious attacks from the left came after Governor Sarah Palin spoke at the Tea Party Convention a few days ago. As a Tea Party member and a conservative, I see the trashing of Governor Sarah Palin as a positive ... people attack things they fear, and they really fear Palin’s popularity and power; and the more they attack her, the more popular she becomes among the general public.
Even though the left has desperately tried to paint the Tea Party as an “angry white mob,” eyewitnesses, videos and photos show a much different picture. The party includes veterans, conservative Democrats, conservative Republicans, conservative independents, Reagan Democrats, some moderates, blacks, whites, Hispanics, native Americans, Asians, men, women and teenagers. This huge cross-section of Americans is what really scares the progressives and their allies in the media. I believe this force will grow and will continue to exert pressure on the nation’s political scene. This does not bode well for progressives, far-left liberals, socialists and RINOs.
I urge every patriotic American to join and support the national Tea Party forces; after all, it’s our country and I think it is worth fighting for.
She did all these things and her critics say, “she not smart enough.” So, all the people who hired her, voted for her, worked with her, did it because she wasn't’t smart enough! Her experiences of just being a woman and doing what she has done, makes her smart enough!
Some people think she is not smart enough ... they think that no woman is smart enough. Neither Obama nor Hillary Clinton can match her experiences.
No one in politics today can match her in the most important qualities that Jefferson said George Washington had. " He administered the government with fairness and integrity, assuring Americans that the President could exercise extensive executive authority without corruption. Further, he executed the laws with restraint, establishing precedents for broad-ranging presidential authority. His integrity was most pure”, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “his justice the most inflexible I have ever known, no motive of interest or consanguinity, friendship, or hatred, being able to bias his decision”.
And yes I think Sarah Palin has these same qualities that Jefferson said Washington had!
