Its on. A little.
I asked Palin spokesperson Meghan Stapleton for comment on Rushs rant, and she emailed me this:
Governor Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful.
It hardly has the passion of her response to Rahm, and theres no call for him to step down. But given Rushs stature among conservatives, its pretty interesting that she went this far, denouncing his on-air rant as crude and demeaning name-calling.
His on-air rant was just an extended goof at Emanuels expense for describing lefty activists as retarded, but having chosen to pick this fight, I guess Sarahcuda cant make exceptions for humor. This is the second prominent conservative her team has had to chastise in two days: An advisor to Rick Perry, whom shes supporting, was upbraided in similar terms yesterday for using the word retarded on a conference call (its now become a minor issue in the Texas Republican primary).

I would actually like to hear what Palin has to say from her mouth, not from some spokesperson or idle speculation.
Who knows what if anything she really said, in what context, etc.
No not really. I typed "terds" and was corrected with "turds". It was a lame attempt to be funny. Really lame.
retard:
a person who is stupid, obtuse, or ineffective in some way: a hopeless social retard.
Automotive, Machinery. an adjustment made in the setting of the distributor of an internal-combustion engine so that the spark for ignition in each cylinder is generated later in the cycle.
Damn right-——even played war with toy guns.
Are we going to have people offended by "diabetic" next?
I'm reminded of the father of my childhood friend, who when their Downy came into the den with brother's sliderule, said, "Look at that! She's a genius." They loved the kid and there was no "shame" associated with her "condition." They enjoyed her just the way she was.
Oh and by the way,
I think the Demon Sheep ad is retarded...and hilariously funny in a bizarre what were they thinking way..with a anyone who thought this was a good idea should be run out on a rail.
“I will continue to use the word retard because it fits so many political leaders”
Problem is, comparing them to politicians is an insult to folks with Downs.
It's understandable that they would be sensitive about making fun
of or making light of mentally-challenged people by using cruel or demeaning labels.
I think you should elect your governor and let us elect ours.
My uncle in Tennessee retard after thirty years in the Army.
I will never surrender the right to call him “peanut brain.”
I do not understand what you were trying to communicate to us. What ever it was please, please keep it to yourself if it was trying to be derogatory towards Rush. He, and he alone, stood up in front of the world and spoke his mind “ I hope he fails” and laid the ground work for how to dissect the Obama bull shit mystic. So don’t come around here and put down Rush. Go to LGF of some other quasi-semi-conservative forum or blog. If you weren’t listening to him that day when he was saying the r-words than STFU. He was using the stick that was handed to him by the pansy-assed ballerina Marxist to bludgeon them with it. Get with it or get going. Bless
Sarah has a retarded child. I would guess that Sarah's objection to the perjorative use of the word "retarded" isn't because she is trying to be politically correct.
I’ll be wary of anyone trying to foment a rift between Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin. These are our friends. I support them both.
Our domestic enemy is the liberal secular politic and our foreign enemy is Islamist fascism. That is where my focus will be and my animosity directed, and that alone.
Honorary and courtesy titles are an old custom. Like calling the heir to a noble title “Lord” such and such even though he was in fact a commoners eligible to sit in the House of Commons. But just think:”Mr.” used to apply only to gentlemen. Someone else was just Tom Brown, or in medieval days before patronyms became the usual. just “Tom”. Not too many years ago, whites in the South never referred to a black man, even a doctor or lawyer as Mr. or Dr. but just called him “Tom” or “Brown.” A strange black man, even an old was was called “boy.” Nowadays, of course, the politicians are our gentry, so they get called by the highest office they have held. In the 19thcentury,” Judge”was frequent and a prized title. Stephen Douglas was more often called “Judge Douglas” than by the title of Senator, and he liked the idea.
HUH? My thoughts exactly!
“What hes got to watch out for is that his psyche go sore or even shot thanks to the persecutions.”
Yeah, I really hate it when my psyche go sore.
What language are you using?
They have a ‘Rush’ in your multiverse too???
To me it smacks of the NOTA.
