If and when ObamaCoup passes, one-sixth of the economy will belong to the feds. The American Medical Association (AMA) and all the other medical unions (thats what AMA comes down to) will go to D.C. to get their money, against fierce competition from the psychologists and social workers, who are also trying to get their share of the loot.
You and I will no longer be the main clients for our medical doctors. We wont be in the loop. Your money will be forcibly extracted from your taxes, and when we get sick we will be passive recipients of the kindness of strangers like Barney Frank and Harry Reid. And Nurse Ratched. Its not your doctor anymore; it will be the states doctor.
I would not trust my doctor under socialism. Right now I think he is on my side. If I get some dread disease I think he will try to cure me. Why? Because we have the same incentive: my health and well-being. Thats not true anymore in Britain, where the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) decides how much money the state can spend on you....

Nope
Doctor? We’ll be lucky if we can find a nurse practioner.
Trust your Doctor? He won’t be making the medical decisions anyway.
for those of us who live with health problems, this is the scariest scenario.
No.
There is always Panama ... where they are building new hospitals with American doctors to take care of the health care of patient refugees from the USA.
He or she won’t be my doctor. That person will be the federal government’s doctor.
It will be like in the old Soviet Union, which had, on paper at least, the most generous healthcare in the world. All healthcare was free, you just went to the doctor and got treatment...of course if you wanted any “real” treatment you had better slip the doctor some hefty payola or you would be given some Aspirin and kicked out the door.
Well, we have our Dr. Jen. Best horse vet in the area. A lot of what’s good for the horses is also pretty much good for us, too...
Now where’s that hay?
I know, I am pharmacist and one of the younger ones was asking me about what I thought about pharmacy and Obamacare and I said well, you will most likely see increased job opportunities as instead of seeing a MD you might see a PharmD
You sure won’t see top of the class wanting to go to MED school anymore, unless they are hopelessly neurotic

100% true. This is the eventual, inevitable result of universal healthcare.
the majority of doctors in rural communities are already considered foreigners. Gee what will make the Obamascare any different.
Currently I have undergone a horror story, radiologist reads the MRI, determines that I must have an open wound on the neck, because he believes there is an infection in the neck. I speak right with the rdiologist show him there is no open wound. He admits he does not know what the problem is than. get a second opinion, determine that there is a benign form a cancer is five vertebrae.
will travel to a specialist in another part of the state whom graduated from the Clevelan Clinic whom specializes in diseases of the cervical vertebrae.
just imagine what the caliber of doctors will graduate from Medical school. Medical school no longer have a grading system, just pass and fail. and a student can take longer to finish. medical schools are encouraged by the fede government to educate more minorities and no longer encouraged to accept white males. Great medical care will follow
Health care reform is a Dead issue. I know this was fun but it’s long over. Democrats were stupid for thinking they could pull this off. It never was very likely given the size of what they tried. But the MSM told everyone it was certain and most repeated that conventional wisdom. That is what made it fun for me.
Pelosi says she’s not giving up, bless her LOL
Remember Clinton’s “Little White Card” that would have all you medical data on it? Well, that will include the diet your doctor will have to prescribe for you. And don’t try to buy anything at a Super Market or Restaurant that isn’t on it. A little prison time on your diet will set your mind right.
I know the current medical-insurance payment system is totally against the individual and it HAS to change!
CIP: Had a kidney stone...worst pain I’ve ever even imagined. Went to the ER. Got out in 24hrs. got a bill from my insurance for $12,500 as all my responsibility. Was between jobs and it turned out that I WAS covered by insurance by a day! Now the insurance “re-figures” the bill and only asks for $1500!
Complete crap! Change it, change it, change it! God bless Barak Obama!!
I started distrusting my doctor a few years ago, maybe 10. Since then I don’t fill out questionnaires about general health. I’m not going to wait until they actually ask me if there is a gun in the house. If I get tricked into answerinf a question, I do not feel constrained to tell the truth. I try to stick to talking only about whatever was the reason for the visit.
I also try to represent myself as having a very happy an rewarding life, whatever the truth may be at the time. I just can’t shake the picture that this guy, or his notes will someday be brought before a panel to decide if my life is more or less valuable than somebody else’s.
The other thing I am doing is saving up to pay for medical tourism, that is for any procedure that might be available to others in the US, but denied by law to me.
I am also considering dropping medicare altogether just to get out from the federal yoke. My former employer’s insurance plan required me to sign up, but I think it is not necessarily mandatory and there might be an alternative, though a very expensive one.
Surely you jest. You want to give up our system, with its deficiencies, for a government-run operation in which bureaucrats dictate the terms. You must be extremely naive, sir. Either that, or exceptionally ignorant of how things are and could be.
