Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has revealed he no longer cares if the band continues saying, "Honestly, I couldn't care less if it were over."
Watts is famously dismissive of popular music with jazz his widely acknowledged first love. He is currently on tour with The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie jazz-blues band and confirms, "Jazz is my passion. This is the music that I really want to do. The Stones are merely an annoying pastime."

I discovered the beautiful music of the Renaissance at about the age of 35. I’ve never looked back, and often wondered just what I ever saw in rock music.

I'm sure Mick Jagger is tired of the Rolling Stones too. It's been almost a quarter century since they put out anything close to a decent album.

Well, I've always said, "if it ain't Baroque, don't fix it!" :-) I guess if the only thing you've ever known is the swill that's modern music, that's what you're going to enjoy; just as if you've never tasted lobster you might think tripe is the ultimate in culinary delight!
I’ve kind of gotten bored with rock too. But I’m moving in a slightly different direction from you guys — towards disco. A Chic album spins on a turntable in the background as I type.
It’s a pity that the Rolling Stones never cultivated ‘B’ teams of musicians, composers and vocalists. They could have had a complex orchestra, bringing together classical blues and jazz, with the core band as the centerpiece.
Rolled into one, it would be a music academy, a recording studio, and a record label, generating music groups, training composers, cross training performers, etc.

He put out a very good album, ‘The Charlie Watts Orchestra’, a big band recording, in which Courtney Pine got his start.
What goes around comes around, I guess. But this is illustrative of the modern trend in music which has steered itself toward the purely rhythmic and percussive—the primal elements of music, the simplest, and the least refined.
Their appearance at the Super Bowl was simply horrible. I was never a big fan but did see the Stones live back in the 60’s.
Chet Baker, who often recorded and appeared without drummers, said it best: "A good drummer is better than no drummer at all."
Did Elvis' first recordings on Sun had a drummer? Anyway, Charlie's good tonight, I luv him!
