The website "The Tea Party Is Over" is run by: American Public Policy Committee.

As can be seen here, American Public Policy Committee is run by Craig Varoga.

Ed Morrissey did a piece on Varoga back in 2005 when Varoga was working for NARAL and was collecting financial dossiers on judges and justices around the country.

This article details Varoga's work in MA:

“A special-interest group repudiated by Deval Patrick after it lobbed attack ads from the shadows at the GOP’s Kerry Healey is funded and supported by Democratic insiders and Patrick backers, new records show.”

“The Patriot Majority Fund, which has spent $450,000 on pro-Patrick and anti-Healey campaign ads, is run by Craig Varoga, a former operative for state Democratic Party Chairman Phil Johnston.”

“Varoga, a Texas-based Democratic strategist, was in charge of opposition research for Johnston during Johnston’s failed 1996 run for Congress. A former communications director for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada), Varoga was slammed for using bogus newspaper headlines in an attack ad during a 1992 state Senate race in Missouri.”

This was researched and posted as a reply on another thread last night but, as this story is starting to spread thru the blogs and FR was way out in front, I thought I should make it stand on its own thread.

There a lot more out there on this guy and his activities-lets get to work.

Craig Varoga is a national political strategist whose presidential experience includes managing former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack’s campaign for president, serving as national field director for retired Four Star General Wesley Clark, managing the Texas Truth Squad in 2000 and running the state-research program for the Clinton-Gore re-election. Varoga began his political career in Louisiana in the 1980s, where he was a campaign aide to former Congresswoman Lindy Boggs and press secretary to New Orleans Mayor Sidney Barthelemy.
