I’ve been thinking about this and we need to be careful not to overplay our hand. As silly as we all think his teleprompter is, most likely this is a set up for reporters, not students.

exactly, let's get facts before anyone makes a big deal of this --- from a little web searching it seems that Obama met with students in one room and then gave his "education remarks" or speech in another, and that guy against the wall with his hands clasped in front is Secy. of Education Arne Duncan:
