[history]
The former six-term congressman stepped down Friday as host of his conservative talk radio program on a radio station in Phoenix.
"We will formally announce at a later time, but we're moving forward to challenge John McCain," Hayworth told the Associated Press. "I think we all respect John. I think his place in history is secure. But after close to a quarter-century in Washington, it's time for him to come home."

I hope he gets some high profile endorsements - it is gonna be tough having Palin and Brown on the other side.

McCain has been running snide, obnoxious radio ads denigrating Hayworth for the past couple weeks.
I hope Hayworth returns the favor and come out strongly against Juan.

I think this will be an exercise in futility for JD Hayworth. If he loses this primary, he is probably done with any elected office.
To: MarkAccord
Yep, McCain has Brown and Palin and probably the governor. Bad idea, Hayworth.

Palin owes McCain for introducing her to the national scene. It’s called loyalty. A higher form of integrity. Also, McCain was the first high profile politician to endorse Scott Brown, again loyalty comes to the surface.
McCain need to take some advice and retire. Pass the baton and enjoy his latter years.
To: MarkAccord
Just as futile as Brown and Rubio when they first announced, right, got it.

For the record, Massachusetts and Florida are both open Senate seats, Arizona isn’t. If Arizona were an open seat, I would probably support him.
To: MarkAccord
Hayworth should begin his run by vowing to S-T-O-P any form of healthcare reform instead of McCain-like/Brown-like “negotiating and compromising to get a better bill” type crap. If Brown missed the message of last Tuesday as badly as McCain, Hayworth can gain a lot of support by coming out strongly against any such pantywaist pandering to the RATS.
NO BILL, NO COMPROMISE, AND NOBAMA!
