I'm sorry, but Corsi is correct.
We don't have actual capitalism and haven't for decades (nearly a century).
What we have now is oligarchic crony pseudo-capitalism, where only the insiders are allowed to play and profit in a set of government and banker-enforced monopolies.

"Corsi cites a recent study by the North American Center for Transborder Studies that claims that 40 million jobs were created in the United States, Canada, and Mexico between 1993 (the year NAFTA passed) and 2007. ...
From 1993 to 2007, employment in the United States grew from 120 to 146 million, in Mexico from 31 to 42 million, and in Canada from 13 to 17 million.
Simple subtraction will tell us that the net number of jobs added in the United States after NAFTA was 26 million, in Mexico 11 million, and in Canada 4 million, and simple addition will give us the total of 41 million."
Daniel Griswold is a Cato globalism apologist who is assuming A is the cause of B because A precedes B.
What seems to escape him is that that NAFTA, etc (so called 'free trade agreements') sacrifice American workers, companies, and security for free movement of goods and natural persons. He sidesteps the fact that these treaties were enacted without removing onerous levels of taxation, regulation, and political correctness that burden the American company and worker.

Well put!
Also could be called corporatism or fascism.

The man who wrote this attack piece is from Cato the libertarian think tank which always defends “free trade”. Cato is a mouthpiece for huge corprtae interests. The same bankster types who brought you the Wall Street meltdown and bailouts....Are also always for “free trade”
I’ll take Jerome Corsi over Cato stooges any day and agree with most of what he says

“The examples of sloppy scholarship just keep coming.”
I was already to the point of just skimming the article (because of the sloppy scholarship) when I got to that quote. I get a kick out of people who say stupid things while calling other people stupid.

We don't have actual capitalism and haven't for decades Begging to differ, it's a mix, yes, there is a fair amount of crony capitalism, but there have been lots of areas where capitalism has excelled for all of us, even now.

Regardless of the merits or demerits of free trade, NAFTA has nothing to do with "free trade." You don't need several hundred pages of treaty to have free trade. You just let people in one county deal with people in another country, without government interference. NAFTA is a fraud.
