If The Bellwethers Are Really Bellwethers, This Might Not Be Close (Looks like Brown up by 15 ?!?)

If The Bellwethers Are Really Bellwethers, This Might Not Be Close

Wow. Here are those three bellwhether community polls by Suffolk University that Chris Matthews was talking about:

Bellwether polling, conducted Saturday, Jan. 16, and Sunday, Jan. 17, shows:

Brown (55%) leads Coakley (40%) by 15 points in Gardner. Independent candidate Joseph L. Kennedy polls 2%, while 3% are undecided.

In Fitchburg, Brown (55%) has a 14-point lead over Coakley (41%), with 2% for Kennedy and 2% undecided.

Peabody voters give Brown (57%), a 17-point lead over Coakley (40%), with Kennedy polling 1% and 3% undecided.

The bellwether polls are designed to predict outcomes and not margins. Suffolk's bellwether polls have been 96% accurate in picking straight-up winners when taken within three days of an election since 2006.

I wouldn't blame any Coakley supporters if they saw these numbers and started quoting Hudson from Aliens: "Game over, man, game over!"

These three towns in aggregate predicted the 2006 Senate Race within one point.

Peabody not far from me (Beverly). When you drive around, like on Rt 1-A up toward Rowley, you see lots of Brown yard signs, maybe 1 Coakley. When you’re stopped at a red light in places like Riley Plaza Salem or at the Beverly end of
the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge, you see people holding signs for Brown (in Salem, one lonely Coakley sign holder)

Look. The media said it's a "dead heat." What don't you understand about that?

I’ve been making calls for Brown since last Monday. My tally has Brown far ahead of Coakley.

Let’s hope 17% (or even 14) is above the cheat threshold.

The Dems will still demand a recount, and it will be granted.

Aren't the dead part of the Democrat voting base? (That's what I learned here.) Perhaps that's what the media meant.

Peabody not far from me (Beverly).

Patton had a home around there didn't he? Used to date a girl from Endicott and I recall her pointing it out.

So much is going on here it’s hard to really grasp the enormity- but I have some stray ideas-

1- Marcia is NOT a Kennedy.

2- Marcia does NOT love the Red Sox.

3- Voters in MAssachusetts have had NOTHING to get interested or excited about in years in terms of sending senators to DC. Kerry, Kennedy forever. They feel involved and consequential.

4- See # 2 again. No one outside of MA should underestimate how much the Red Sox are part of life there- and how NOT knowing about Curt will cost her thousands of votes.

Brown certainly has a great phone operation. His people have called me four times - and I moved to Arizona 10 months ago - lol.

Drove through Gardner to Mt. Mt Wachusetts ski are to catch Scott Brown got turned away.Drove through Worcester County to on Rt 140 near Fitchburg and Gardner mostly rural roads about 40 miles. Brown signs outnmbered Coakley sign 20-1 with a lot of huge homade signs all along the way to the Rally in Worcester.
The only other phenomenom that it reminds me of is Patriots going to the Super Bowl with the same anticipation that people can’t wait for the game.

If Brown wins by more than 2 points, there will be no recount.

The public is turning on them, even in Massachusetts. They're scared to death right now. Any overt attempt to steal this election will blow up in their lying faces... and they know it.

It suggests a statewide landslide. Brown will win everywhere but Boston and he will carry the state with 55-60% of the vote.

Yeah, but one almost hopes they'll try it anyway!

I live in Rowley, MA - we are one of the few counties in MA that always vote Republican.
