NEW HAVEN — Four teens were wounded, two of them girls, in two shootings in Fair Haven early Saturday.
All are expected to recover, police said.
The first incident took place at 12:37 a.m. in the area of 111 Grand Ave. A 17-year-old Hamden girl was shot once in the right calf.
Later, at 4 a.m., behind 379 Grand Ave., two males and a female were wounded as gunfire rang out.
Police recovered approximately 20 shell casings that appeared to have been fired from an assault rifle, as well as ashell casing from a .45-caliber weapon a .38-caliber handgun.
The victims’ injuries were not life threatening, police said.
“First I heard a couple of single shots,” said Maltby Place resident Wilfredo Franco, 49, who was awakened by the gunfire, “and then I heard like 20 in a row.”

Those kids need some melatonin supplements in their diets so they can go to sleep before midnight and not wander the streets sleepless after curfew. If they only had good health care to provide it to them.
Kids who are out at that time make themselves targets of the predators. Predators stalk at night. It is not necessary to be prey and it is avoidable.
This has to be a made up story. It's illegal to own an "assault rifle" in Connecticut. It's an enlightened blue state, not one of the bitter clinger states.
You assume those who were shot weren’t predators also; just not at the top of the urban food chain.
BTW; I always thought the ‘amish’ were better shots.

You’ve got that right. Somebody even reloaded (.38 special casing found). The only semi-auto I know that ejects a .38 special is an S&W mod 52. I sold mine this summer... Hmm... Maybe it went to somebody in New Haven.

We had a black on black shooting several years back where I live that happened in a crowded parking lot. The clubs had just closed so there were tons of people hanging around. We recovered 36 spent shell casings. Not one person was hit. There were a total of two rounds in two vehicles. These folks sure know how to shoot.
Sorry! I forgot. We did find lots of gouges in the pavement from the fired rounds.
