Earthquake-ravaged Haiti looks like a war zone indeed from everywhere.

I’ve been doing a slow burn as our military is once more put in the role of social worker. This is a military and national security crisis. Chavez and Castro will take action if we don’t. It’s time to occupy Haiti for national security reasons and get control of the country. Maybe down the road we can do nation building since that’s worked so well in other parts of the world s\ but for now, order has to be restored at a minimum of risk to our military and relief workers. Its not going to happen though for fear the US will be accused of “gasp” imperialism. We’ve become a nation of wimps.

What do you do with a million people without shelter, food or medical help? My suggestion would be for all the Caribbean countries and other countries in tropical regions to accept multitude airlifts for these people. You can’t expect these people to survive in civilized 1st world countries with temperate climates. They wouldn’t know how to live. That may sound cruel but I see no other alternative. Haiti needs a mass evacuation of all its people to deal with this catastrophe.

Speaking of aid...

Note to folks in Haiti: If anyone sees people holding up aid shipments so some bloody bureaucrat and/or NGO can play Lady Bountiful, take names and get pics if you can. Put the info out on the web. Don't wait for the MSM to do it because they won't. Get the info out there. The people who paid for all that aid will do the rest. God bless you.

There are some bloated abdomens in that first picture. They need to get those bodies in the ground quick.

Several years ago in St. Martin, while on vacation, we were told that many of those laboring were from Haiti. As I recall, they were not the nicest people, I wondered why at the time as at least they had escaped their horrible homeland.

Most of the Caribbean nations are already poor, St.Thomas is a mess with terrible crime and poverty. We were told to not leave our hotel at night unless we were in a taxi. I am not sure where they could go and not be in the same situation.

Well, there is that. And they didn’t even get the benefit of the Marshall Plan. Plus, the Soviets just stole anything of worth and sent it back to Russia.

America has been sending $290 million in aid every year for more than a decade. Haiti’s population is 9,780,000.
Where’s the money going ?

While Haiti was never a paradise, it was Duvalier that brought it to the horrible state it’s in now. At least before Duvalier, Haiti had something resembling a middle and professional class.

Duvalier used the politics of racial envy to gain absolute power. You see, the relative-well-to-do in Haiti at the time, tended to be lighter-skinned mulattoes and Creoles.

Duvalier used the Tonton Macoutes to kill or intimidate these people, and he distributed the spoils to these thugs.

We are seeing a replay of this in Zimbabwe with Mugabe.

We should dump all of the Haitian refugees at the doorstep of Baby Doc’s French Mansion.

Guantanamo is only about a hundred miles across the water. Set up a big refugee camp and hospital there for the short term, get these people out of the rubble and disease until it can be cleaned up.

Agreed. And yo know as well as I do that Obama has blown it through prejudice against the military.

Obama chose the kumbayah aid model. His inesxperience is on rank display for all to see. Obama has a ;earning curve so flat that even the earths curvature has no effect on giving it help.Stupid asinine POS is this pretend president.

You know that the only winners in this debacle will be typhus and bubonic plague microbes, as the trapped corpses rot and fester, and the rains and rats come.

SHAME!

Forbes quoted Preval this morning as well.

Haiti leader urges end to quake aid squabbling
By ALFRED de MONTESQUIOU and MIKE MELIA , 01.16.10, 10:09 AM EST

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Haitian President Rene Preval is imploring the international community to better coordinate the massive aid effort for his country and not to squabble over how to provide it.

Preval says it is “an extremely difficult situation. We must keep our cool to do coordination and not to throw accusations at each other.”
