We are judged individually, not collectively. A pact made 200 years ago by a few desperate men has no bearing on the people that are suffering now. To suggest that it does is the height of stupidity.
You didnt make a statement as to your personal beliefs with respect to the veracity of scripture but let me just say that there are many references throughout the Bible of how the actions and beliefs of people in a current age will have an effect on their future age....not just on a personal level but to their family, descendents etc.
Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
(Luke 13:1 NIV) Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
(Luke 13:2 NIV) Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?
(Luke 13:3 NIV) I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
(Luke 13:4 NIV) Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?
(Luke 13:5 NIV) I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
Israel was always being judged by Yahweh for the wickedness of her Kings. That is why America is very short sighted when they think it's all about electing a President and/or Congressman. The righteous fall under the same judgment when Yahweh removes His protection. Read Job.
