They would be crazy to venture out. You could not roam about that hellhole prior to the earthquake without armed bodyguards.

Haitians suffer because Bush is a Racist. He is more interested in killing innocent civilians in Afganistan than helping poor blacks in Haiti! How’s that?

More like this in today’s NY Times: “Administration slow to react to Haiti cataclysm.”

Or: “Pentagon geared for war, not humanitarian aid”

Or: “Administration has history of neglect toward Caribbean poverty”

We are fools. This is going to be a total CF. The magnitude of this mess is going to overwhelm. Fools rush in. Where is the wonderful UN? Obama has adopted a whole country for us. What a complete idiot. The “News” as usual is down there on the runway babbling about how we are going to save the whole shooting match because Obama the magnificient is in charge.

Which is my point. Obama can't save Haiti any more than Bush could have saved New Orleans after Katrina. And the media has - mistakenly in my opinion - rushed in with the TV cameras and anchors to show it all. This is going to have political blowback on Obama and the State Run Media.

They will just blame it all on Rush and the Tea Party. The truth is this. We can not save them. All we can do is send some water and food. The “heavy equipment” they are psychobabbling about does not exist and can not be imported in time to do anything. If they are trapped they are dead and no amount of liberal whining and wishful thinking is going to change that. There is a reason the UN and all the other countries are not rushing in. Millions of homeless Haitians with no food water or shelter. What is Obama doing??

Need to reestablish the control zone and ensure safety of the civi’s who will be doing the work of handing out the food. Hope they have a good commander to exercise control of this situation, it can get out of control very quickly, then we’ll have a bloodbath.

Obama has his out for Afghanistan and Iraq.

He will "redeploy" our troops to Haiti, "where these brave men and women will go to war against the apathy that for so long has doomed the Haitian people to living in the rubble of the seismic disruptions brought by bankers and corporate greed."

A ten minute lecture on how this is all our fault will follow.

Apocalypse is a good word for it and Obama is blundering in at full speed. There is a huge conglomeration of Moronic MSM types hanging out in the airport. I doubt they will be there long. Liberals. We can not save 3 million people in this mess. What are we going to do feed and shelter a whole country in imperpetuity? We should let the private aid organizations do it and donate what we can. What about the wonderful UN? What is Obamas exit strategy?

Obama asked Bush 43 to partner w/Bill Clinton to head the relief efforts so that he has cover to say whatever he does is a bi-partisan effort to save Haiti. Of course Obama will make sure he gets all the credit if it goes well, and he will share the blame w/Bush/Clinton if it goes wrong. Bush is being used. The question is does he know it.

bush has always has a strong, undeniable case of Stockholm Syndrome. He longs for the approval of the liberals. I could never figure it out. So, no I do not think he knows he is being used.

He is also being used because it is very beneficial for Bush to be seen and remembered by the clueless morons out there. It makes Bush easier to blame.

Of course it’s going to be a CF. The island was a full on CF before the earthquake. Now, it’s hell on earth. There’s only one way to fix Haiti’s problems. Will Obama do it? We’ll see.

The 'private aid agencies' you refer to are the NGO's that normally do this work? They will come in after things have settled down and order is restored by the military. NGO's have absolutely no ability to protect themselves (the PRT's in A-stan are a good example of military/civilian cooperation, not a perfect example, but about as good as you can get) and are going to require a somewhat safe environment to do their work. The military forces that are deployed are going with plenty of humanitarian aid supplies and tools for clearing debris.

In case you missed the news flash, the US and Canada have been supporting Hati for quite some time (easily since the early 90's through the UN). When I was there last year USS Keersarge(sp?) and HMCS St Johns were ferrying humanitarian aid to the northern and southern parts of the island respectivly after several hurricanes ripped over Hati. We delivered over 350 tons of food and water by sea over 14 days. I have to say though that while I was on the ground there some of those people looked like they would jump us if we didn't have our weapons.

The problem with Hati is that it never gets better there no matter how much aid gets poured into it. The people love us because we give them free stuff, but there is no incentive for them or their government to pull them out of the poverty they are in. Their government is very corrupt due to the high amount of drug runners that transship cocaine and other drugs through their country as well, so you have a double whammy hitting the ordinary Hatian. Given the sorry state of the country and the absolute lack of public services or disaster recovery ability and you get a humanitarian nightmare whenever there is even a large storm, let alone a hurricane or earthquake. Its a very frustrating place to attempt to help.

I too was ther in cap hatian only a few weeks ago. Obama is going in full speed to adopt this mess. This guy is a Space Alien. Believe me he has no exit strategy. I imagine he sees this as his big opportunity. We are in deep trouble. The UN and all the other countries are smart enough to stand back and let him ruin us. We should NOT send in the 82nd Airborne in to this mess. We should provide food, water and logistical support and hand this disaster over to the UN.

Not only that Haiti...politically and economically....is a total hell hole.....another big problem aid workers will have is the topography.....except for the coast...Haiti is very mountainous....leaving only one way overland for supplies to get in.

A major disaster of epic proportions is just beginning. Yes, I do wonder if Obamster will get the blame if Haiti crashes....like Bush did for Katrina?
