In yet another testament to liberals celebrating liberals, on Thursday the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism announced that CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric won the Alfred I. duPont award for excellence in broadcast journalism for her slanted 2008 interview with vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
In the interview, shown over a number of days on the CBS Evening News in September of 2008, Couric routinely sought trip up Palin. As NewsBusters' Brent Baker reported, on the September 29 broadcast, Couric pounded Palin on Pakistan, despite lobbing softballs to Joe Biden on the economy.
MediaBistro.coms TVNewser obtained note to staff from CBS News and Sports president Sean McManus, who proclaimed that the award was a testament to Katies excellence and added that the interviews have gone on to become an iconic moment in television journalism. He also noted that the interviews had a profound impact on the presidential campaign. So much for journalists being neutral observers.
In March of 2009, Couric won the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism from the University of Southern California Annenberg School of Communication for the Palin interviews.
Heck, trashing Sarah is winning as many ‘journalism’ awards as causing breaches in US national security.
Sarah will get the last laugh; count on it.
And let’s not forget Katie is winning in the ratings.....oh, wait, no she’s not.
Katie, I’m just waiting to see your next colonoscopy on primetime. That’s bound to win an award.
The Marxist media will always reward their own.
It is sickening but does not affect me, since I left the USA.
I get all my news and views via Rush and other talk radio
online.... Radiotime.com ... a great service.
We hang the “Journalists” first and the Politicians second.
Columbia University produced a large number of Wall street CEOs that raped the nations and planets financial systems.
It’s a very corrupt school.

Do you get Al Jazeereh in the Philippines? (you must)
We get it here in New Zealand. I get most of my news from the FRee Republic, Radio New Zealand and, if I feel so inclined to watch TV News, Al Jazeereh.
It is brilliant. Good balanced news reporting, insightful (if slightly biased) editorial comment, generally balanced analysis. In perfect English, with Western-looking presenters, from England.
I was stunned. The Enemy has better and more reliable TV News than The Good Guys!!!
Something is wrong with this picture. But I won’t cut my nose off to spite my face — it’s superb so I watch it.
Lot to be proud of...
Katie gets awards but not viewers, typical, liberal success story.
“Do you get Al Jazeereh in the Philippines? (you must)”
I have no idea.
I do not have a regular or shortwave radio, nor have I looked for Al Jazeereh, but I am sure it is on Radiotime.
Oh yea..right here: http://radiotime.com/Search.aspx?query=Al%20Jazeera (47 listings)
On Radiotime.com, I can get any radio station in the world that has streaming.
You select regions, countries and category.
Each category is broken down into style, and you can select the listings by station or program.
One just has to view the site to see how great it is.
For music, I now listen to Kenny G’s online station WKGRS,
listed under Music/Jazz/Smooth jazz
One would not believe what is available, even stations from Kyrgyzstan, as well as all of Asia, and every other part of the world.
She needs it as it viewership continues to spiral downward into the pit of irrelevance.
Holds nearly as much prestige as the Nobel Dustcollector.
Pray for America and Gov Palin
They should have taken two journalism awards away from her for her lame Biden interview.
Did they give an award to the person or persons who edited out the badgering Couric did with her 12 questions regarding abortion under difference circumstances? Did they also mention that Couric was too dumb to think up questions herself, and had to ask Sam Nunn for help. BTW, Sam Nunn was a big 0bama supporter. I don’t suppose they mentioned that.

We receive it televised over one of our regular free-to-air channels. I was guessing it might be broadcast in the Philippines due to the Moro muslim population in Mindinao.
If you can receive it there, it really is worth a look.
“I was guessing it might be broadcast in the Philippines”
There is no Muzie TV here, and I have yet to see a Muzie.
The Muslim influence is greatly exaggerated. This is a very strong Catholic country. There are just a few pockets of them, mostly in the far west of Mindanao.
There are probably more, per capita, in the USA.
Indonesia and Malaysia are where you find the Muslims.
