I disagree with Robertson, and think his statement was totally inappropriate. However, having stated that, the Left in this country needs its devils and demons, and in this case it’s Robertson and Limbaugh. Let’s vent all our anger and frustration at Robertson and Limbaugh. The problem isn’t the esrthquake, or that Haiti has been a poorly run country with no infrastructure, the problem is Robertson and Limbaugh.

"Gibbs: "It never ceases to amaze that in times of amazing human suffering, somebody says something that could be so utterly stupid, but, it, like clockwork, happens with some regularity."

Yeah, sorta like "AIDS was created by the government to kill people of color".

"commander zero" and Michelle sat in the front row smilin' and hootin' when rev. wright made such statements and never denounced them.

I don’t think Pat meant ill of the Haitians, but he doesn’t know what he is talking about.

First, if you look at Luke 13, or John 9, Jesus made it clear that those who suffer from catastrophes or physical infirmities (blindness, deafness), did not experience these things because they were “worse sinners than all other men”.

It is interesting that Jesus does not explain why these tragic events happen - but, he warns his listeners that “unless you repent you will all likewise perish”. What He means by this is that all of us are sinners, all of us are physically going to die one day.

So, Jesus was telling his disciples that what they need to do - and do asap - is repent and “get right” with God. Why? Because no one of us knows, generally speaking of course, when or how we will die - but the fact remains that we are all moment by moment heading for the grave. Every passing day and moment brings us ever closer to that event. The question Jesus has for us is “Are you ready?”.

The point is, the Haitians have not experienced this terrible earthquake because they were worse sinners than others - God does not give us a reason for why this happens or why the people that were in the Twin Towers died on September 11. The reality is that death is coming to us all - the question still is - Are you ready?

From what I understand, it is a historical fact that Haiti was dedicated to the devil in its establishment. Many of us would agree that it is good from something to be dedicated to God in its creation. It therefore follows that there just "might" be a problem if something is similarly dedicated to the devil in its creation. Would you rather dedicate your child to God or the devil upon its birth?

Now if the "historical fact" is being questioned, that's one thing. But the uproar over the negative impact of something being dedicated to satan, is yet another example of the anti-Christ spirit eminating from this WH and the MSM.

It’s time to lay the blame for this tragedy where it truly belongs . . .

John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

I believe the enemy of mankind (Satan) and the demonic realm are ultimately behind this terrible destruction in Haiti - not God.

When we (as individuals or a nation) turn away from Almighty God and the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible does list various negative consequences (Deuteronomy 28:15-68 for example). When God’s hand of protection is removed from a person’s life because of continued disobedience or rebellion, the enemy can come in like a flood and cause a host of problems. God does not cause these tragedies, but He will use them in this broken world to bring people back to Him - because He loves us and wants us back.

Is it fair that in this process innocent people are hurt? Of course not, but realize that this world is a fallen world, polluted by sin, and Satan and his demons don’t play fair. They are wicked, fallen spiritual beings that are bent on the destruction of the human race - in any way possible.

However, born-again Christians have nothing to fear from the demonic realm, as the Lord Jesus has given us power and authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). As a minister of the Gospel, I’ve prayed with and led hundreds of people in deliverance sessions (exorcisms) over the last 14 years - and demons ALWAYS flee in the name of Jesus.

So is God to blame for this Hatian tragedy? Of course not. God loves everyone and is very patient towards us, working to bring us to a place of repentance and faith in Him. Is the devil and the demonic realm to blame? Ultimately yes, to a certain degree.

What needs to be done? The people in Haiti need help now with physical needs - food, clothing, and shelter - love of God in action. Many also need help with spiritual needs - the life and freedom only experienced through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10).

Well, Gibbs, I agree that Pat’s remark was off-the-scale stupid, but just for the record, you guys say a lot of utterly stupid things as well.

If it were possible for someone to make me embarrassed to be a Christian, Pat Robertson would be the man for the job. He is a total idiot. I really wish he would keep his stupid mouth shut.

Unfortunately, in the minds of the tolerant, multicultural, Progressive (psuedo)intellectuals, Pat Robertson speaks for all Christians, Republicans, conservatives, and “right wingers”, so his stupidity will be used to paint everyone not to the left of Castro as being equally idiotic.
