So are we not at this point concerned with the gubernatorial candidates? Just asking - I was thinking Kay Ivey would be good and then she got Romney’s endorsement, which made me think twice...
These are National Election threads, one for each state. Please click and read the “We Are Free Republic and We Do Not Back Down” link. Thanks.
I don’t have a “list” yet but I do know this —
I am not voting for Shelby again. He sells us out every time for cheap pork. “Green Scapes in Tarrant” - ?????? New Orleans gets 300 Million, Shelby gets 900,000 for oyster beds. If he’s going to sell us out he needs to way up that ante. Just plain nuts and his arrogrance is growing. Throw the bum out !
Beth Chapman, Secretary of State - I’ll vote for her regardless of office.
Watching, watching Artur Davis.
I’ll check back in when I really get my list together.
Artur Davis? Please tell me you’re kidding. He is running as fast as he can to the right for the chance to get elected. If he wins, he will set a land speed record for going back to the left.
Beth Chapman tries to charge for voter rolls to stop voter fraud 2008:

sutherner, I didn’t say I was going to vote for him ! I’m not. I said I was going to “watch” him !
Agreed. Same with Griffith.
Bradley Byrne is the man.
Yeah, Griffith is catching it from the folks in H’ville. He’s trying to appear concervative, but when he came to Montgomery he was squarely in the Dem corner. He should go!
Ditto that!
Sorry, I misunderstood.
I should admit first that I spend my time on national politics and not as much on state and local. Having said that, I’ve met Bradley a couple of times. I don’t necessarily have a bad impression of him, but my impression of him, confirmed by a friend who is very active in local politics, is that he is a “Bush” conservative. I would vote for him, but not enthusiastically.
When it come to corruption and hauling in the pork—you can’t match Louisiana, don’t even try. They have turned it into an art form. Find new faces to run as Conservatives. Mothers, war heroes, generals, public figures from TV or Radio, even from the world of Music (County Music). We need people untainted by corruption.
A positive note on him is that he knows how the Alabama Legislature works, and know the players in the Rep. and Dem. parties. I don’t think he’s a RINO though.
Hiya Goldie!!! We ‘want’ Bob Reilly? We ‘want’ Shelby? when are they up for firing? I’m still stuck on Chicago politics? At least Larry’s gone :)
*ping*
>If hes going to sell us out he needs to way up that ante.
Better yet, he should not sell you out at all, and have integrity and honor.
Eventually, enough congress critters “selling you out” will mean this nation will be foreign owned.
You won’t like that. And every cent in your pocket will turn to gravel.
Kay Ivey?
I’m sorry, that dog won’t hunt. She’s been the worst treasurer this state has ever had and that’s saying something. It’s not a job that you have to do much in to be good at and you don’t have to oversee much. One thing she was charged with overseeing was PACT and it was a change she pushed through that largely bankrupted the program.
Those people with PACT contracts want heads and hers is the main one she wants. She’d lose by 20 points to Sparks and she might actually have trouble with Davis.
He really is. The best candidate by far. And the most electable if God doesn’t smile upon us and give us Davis for an opponent.
