Over past 7 months, Mitt Romneys favor among Republicans has fallen off a cliff.
Monthly surveys by Public Policy Polling shows that Romneys level of support has fallen to just 48% among Republican voters from a high of 67% in May of this year.
Romney polled in the 60s on the first three polls but has not reached that threshold since and now for the first time he's below 50% with the party base. I don't have any theories to explain Romney's popularity slide with Republican voters but it certainly bodes ominous for his 2012 nomination prospects if he can't get it turned around.
The same polling shows Mike Huckabees support staying above 60%, and Sara Palins favorable rating not falling below 69%.
Just watching him on Greta and he really does look plastic. I was groping for some way to describe the way he looks. Plastic is about as good as any other word.
Sadly, you may be right; I bet that two years out from the 2008 election, John McCain was just as unpopular as Romney is now according to this poll. I didn't in my wildest nightmares think that McCain would win the primary, and I'll bet I wasn't alone in that thinking.
Yet he did. But on the bright side, we did get Palin out of it. There is a God and I pray to Him for a miracle that will vanquish Barack Obama and restore to the United States free markets, Judeo-Christian values, and liberty the way our Founders intended. In Jesus' name, Amen!
Romney, because he's a lot more handsome and a lot richer.
He cannot get any lower in my book — he is the same place he has been since he first announced he was running several years ago — right down at the bottom!
I really don’t want any of the losers from the last lineup to run again. I mean come on. The only halfway decent one was Fred, and he’s certainly not going to.
Huck, Romney, McCain. YUCK. Not only do they range from mediocre to lousy, they will all lose bigtime.
I don’t know for sure who I want. I love Palin politically, but might be too tainted to win. We need someone to get out there and be strong.
