My guess is that Republican still pick up the seat; it demoralizes the Democrats; and this blumenthal figure has a tough time, even as he “isn’t Dodd”.

State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is widely expected to step into the void filled by Dodd and, at least at first blush, should drastically increase Democrats' chances of holding the seat.

Soros has spoken, it shall be done.

Obama will throw everyone under the bus by the time he is done.

“YES!! But I wonder what is the REAL reason.”

Take 10 minutes and watch the video at the link below:

http://schiffforsenate.com/?q=media/peter-schiff-was-right-2006-2007-2nd-edition

As you watch it, imagine the total crook Dodd in his first debate with Peter Schiff who is running aganst Dodd for his senate seat.

THEN, as you watch, imagine Harry, Nancy, Barney, Rahm and dear reader watching this same debate as you.

Dodd probably was given a “choice” that he could’t refuse.

It would be better than an, or the, actual court trial Dodd and the rest of these dems desperately deserve.

IMHO, after watching the video in the link above, just the You-Tube clips of a Schiff-Dodd debate would be extremely popular Pay-Per-View material.

Dodd was hopelessly down in the polls thanks to a variety of scandals. So this will be NJ all over again, when Toricelli was forced to withdraw and another, more electable D will take his place.

Who was it that said all politicians should serve two terms-one in office and one in prison.

I agree. Forced retirement. Now on to the video. Thanks.

I guess he figures he has given enough public service. /s Retirement isn’t good enough. He must do time.

That’s what really galls me. Any exec that pulled his crap in the private sector would be in the Graybar Hotel for a long time. But hardly anybody from Congress goes to jail. Trafficant, Jefferson, Cunningham, Diggs, Myers, Rostenkowski. Most of Congress should be in jail. They are the least honorable , least moral, least ethical citizens imaginable.

C-Span is a national treasure. If it weren’t for C-Span the public would never get the full gist of how arrogant, illogical and peevish this current crop of Dem Senators are. Spend a day watching Conyers, Dodd, Waxman, Kerry, Frank, Reid, Schumer etc. and be astounded at the mendacious incompetence. Fortunately, a lot of them don’t look up to another term.

What would the Founding Fathers have done with this Traitor and criminal? These scum of political “class” retire quietly at the expense of the middle class they claim to champion. They are thieves who deserve no less then prison!

I’m sure the good Senator had “help” making his decision. Hopefully it didn’t involve a horse’s head, but I’d bet whatever it was that convinced him to step down, it made quite an impression.

The dems know they are in for a bad time in November and they are already looking to minimize their losses.

I wish we would have done this in 06 and 08. We support our losers too much. As much as Dems suck, they are much better at politics than the Republicans.

He’s not RETIRING tomorrow; he’s announcing his retirement tomorrow. If he were actually retiring tomorrow, it would mean certain death of the Obama health care plan, since Republican Governor Jodi Rell would appoint his successor.

What kind of trick is he up to now?

His negatives are so high, he is resigning so the DemocRATs can put up another candidate. It is the only way they'll stand a chance in his state's next election. They are doing the same in a number of states where they are sure to lose.

He’s a DIMOCRAT. They’re DIMOCRATS. He’s bailing BEFORE the adults come back to town in 2010 and 12. Some crop of NEW adults probably WOULD go after him and he’s getting out of town before that happens. He’s as crooked as a dog’s hind leg. But then, what else is new?
